Karnataka: Heavy Rainfall Expected in 19 Districts Over Next Four Days
According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is likely in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Ramanagara, Bengaluru, Bengaluru Rural, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Tumakuru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, and Vijayanagara districts.

Karnataka witnessed widespread cloud cover across its coastal, Malnad, and southern interior regions on Monday morning, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of heavy rainfall activity in several districts later in the evening. The department has warned that heavy rainfall is likely to continue for the next four days, with 19 districts. According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is likely in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Ramanagara, Bengaluru, Bengaluru Rural, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Tumakuru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, and Vijayanagara districts.
The weather department has also predicted strong winds reaching speeds of around 40 kmph in several areas and issued alerts for multiple districts. Coastal districts, including Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, have been witnessing continuous rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning since Sunday night.
In Mangaluru city and rural areas, the showers have provided relief to residents who were struggling with intense heat conditions. However, the sudden rainfall has affected normal life in some areas, causing inconvenience to daily commuters and residents.
Several parts of the Malnad region, including Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Hassan, and Kodagu, also received heavy rainfall throughout the night. The rainfall intensity is expected to remain high in areas such as Mudigere, Kottigehara, Charmadi Ghat, Sringeri, Sagar, Hosanagara, Thirthahalli, Sakleshpur, and Madikeri.
Rain Forecast for Southern and Northern Interior Karnataka:
The IMD has predicted moderate rainfall during the evening and night hours in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mandya, Ramanagara, Chamarajanagar, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Tumakuru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, and Vijayanagara districts.
Meanwhile, parts of North Interior Karnataka, including Belagavi, Dharwad, Bagalkot, Gadag, Haveri, Koppal, and Ballari, are likely to experience cloudy weather with light rainfall in isolated areas.
