Apple has entered the foldable smartphone market with the iPhone Duo, marking a major change for the company’s iPhone lineup. The new device uses a book style folding design and combines a large inner display with a smaller outer screen.
The iPhone Duo is positioned as a premium smartphone and comes with Apple’s latest A20 Pro chipset. The processor is also used in the reported iPhone 18 Pro series, giving the foldable model flagship level hardware.
A major attraction is the display setup. The phone reportedly features a 7.6 inch inner Super Retina XDR folding display with a Nano Texture finish. When folded, users can operate the device through a 5.4 inch outer Super Retina XDR display.
Both screens are designed to offer a premium viewing experience, with ProMotion technology and Always On Display support. Dynamic Island is also included, giving the outer screen a familiar iPhone interface.
Apple has taken a different approach to the camera system instead of filling the rear panel with several sensors. The iPhone Duo carries two 48 megapixel rear cameras, consisting of a Fusion main camera and an ultra wide camera.
For selfies and video calls, the phone comes with a 12 megapixel front camera. Apple has also included Camera Control, allowing users to reach photography and video functions more quickly.

The phone will reportedly be offered in multiple storage configurations. The 256GB version is priced at Rs 2,99,900, while the 512GB model costs Rs 3,24,900. Buyers looking for more storage can choose the 1TB version priced at Rs 3,74,900.
At the top of the range, the 2TB model is reported to cost Rs 4,49,900. The pricing puts the iPhone Duo firmly in the premium segment, particularly for buyers interested in a large foldable display.
Apple is also expected to offer the phone in Star White and Night Sky finishes. These options give the device a more understated appearance compared with some of the brighter colours commonly seen on other smartphones.
The company has reportedly scheduled pre orders for October 16, with retail sales expected to begin on October 23. Availability and final market details may vary, so buyers should check Apple’s official information when the device becomes available.
Software features are another important part of the package. Apple Intelligence and Siri AI are included, adding intelligent functions to the device alongside the company’s existing iPhone software experience.
The iPhone Duo therefore combines several familiar Apple features with the flexibility of a foldable screen. Its large inner display could appeal to users who want more space for video, reading and productivity, while the outer display allows the phone to be used in a more conventional form when folded.
