Redmi 17 5G Sale Begins in India With 50 Megapixel Camera

Xiaomi has started selling the Redmi 17 5G in India, giving buyers access to a new smartphone with a large battery, high refresh rate display and a 50 megapixel rear camera. The handset was launched in the country last week and is now available for purchase through Xiaomi’s official website and Amazon.

The Redmi 17 5G starts at ₹23,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model. Buyers looking for more memory can choose the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version, which is priced at ₹26,999.

One of the biggest talking points of the phone is its 7900mAh battery. The large capacity is designed for users who want longer usage between charges. The battery supports 45W Turbo charging, while the handset can also provide 22.5W reverse charging for compatible devices.

The camera setup is aimed at everyday photography. The rear panel carries a 50 megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone has an 8 megapixel front camera with an f/2.05 aperture.

Display size is another notable feature of the Redmi 17 5G. The smartphone comes with a 6.9 inch screen and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. It also offers a 240Hz touch sampling rate, while the reported HBM brightness reaches 825 nits.
