Sony Launches Three New Wireless Headphones With Long Battery Life

Sony has expanded its wireless audio range with three new headphone models aimed at different types of users. The lineup includes the premium WH 1000XM4C, the mid range WH CH730N and the more affordable WH CH530.

The new models focus on practical improvements such as better sound tuning, noise cancellation, clearer calls and longer battery life. Sony has also included Bluetooth 6.0 across the lineup, while the more affordable models bring several features usually associated with higher priced headphones.

The three headphones will be available in the UK from September 10, 2026. Sony has also announced special limited edition bundles created in collaboration with Hello Kitty for selected models.

Sony Headphones Price And Availability

The WH 1000XM4C is priced at GBP 219, which is approximately Rs 28105 based on the provided conversion. It will be offered in Black, Lavender and Platinum Silver finishes.

The WH CH730N costs GBP 99.99, roughly Rs 12900, and comes in Black, Beige, Blue, Pink and White colours.

The entry level WH CH530 is priced at GBP 49.99, approximately Rs 6400. It will be available in Black, Cobalt, Coral, Mint, Pink and White shades.

The Hello Kitty collaboration includes selected headphone models along with a themed carrying pouch and tote bag, giving the special bundles a more distinctive look.

WH 1000XM4C Focuses On Sound And Noise Cancellation

The Sony WH 1000XM4C sits at the top of the new lineup and comes with an over ear design. Sony has worked on the sound tuning and included a 10 band equalizer, allowing users to adjust the audio according to their preference.

The headphones feature DSEE Extreme, Personal Noise Cancellation Optimizer, Ambient Sound Mode and Quick Attention. A pair of 40mm drivers handles the audio output.

For wireless connectivity, the WH 1000XM4C supports Bluetooth 6.0 along with SBC, AAC and LDAC codecs. Multipoint connectivity is also available, allowing the headphones to remain connected with multiple compatible devices.

Users can also connect the headphones using the supplied 1.2 metre detachable cable. The device weighs around 253 grams.

Battery life is rated at up to 27 hours with noise cancellation enabled. With noise cancellation switched off, Sony claims up to 34 hours of playback. A full charge takes around three hours through USB.

WH CH730N Brings ANC And Better Calling

The WH CH730N is positioned below the premium model but still includes active noise cancellation. It uses 30mm dynamic drivers and dual noise sensor technology to reduce unwanted surrounding sound.

Sony has used a foldable over ear design for the headphones, while their weight is around 207 grams. The company has also focused on call quality with its Precise Voice Pickup technology.

The call system combines beamforming microphones, improved microphone positioning and AI powered noise reduction. This setup is designed to make voices clearer when the user is making calls in environments with background noise.

Other features include DSEE, Ambient Sound Mode, multipoint connectivity and customizable audio settings. Bluetooth 6.0 is supported along with SBC, AAC and LC3 codecs.

Battery endurance is another major highlight. Sony claims the WH CH730N can provide up to 50 hours of playback with noise cancellation enabled and up to 75 hours when it is switched off.

The headphones also support quick charging. A three minute charge can provide up to one hour of playback, according to Sony.

WH CH530 Offers Long Battery Backup

The WH CH530 is the most affordable model among the three new headphones. It uses an on ear design with 30mm drivers and soft head cushions designed for comfortable extended use.

Despite its lower position in the lineup, the headphones include several useful features. These include DSEE, customizable equalizer settings and multipoint connectivity.

For calls, Sony has added AI powered noise reduction. The headphones also feature a five step maximum volume control, allowing users to set a preferred volume limit.

The WH CH530 supports a built in voice assistant, Fast Pair, Swift Pair and LE Audio. Bluetooth 6.0 is also included for wireless connectivity.

Sony claims up to 55 hours of playback from the WH CH530. A complete charge takes around three hours, while a three minute quick charge can provide up to 1.5 hours of listening time.

Three Models For Different Users

With these three launches, Sony is covering a broad range of wireless headphone buyers. The WH 1000XM4C is aimed at customers looking for advanced sound features and noise cancellation, while the WH CH730N offers a balance between premium features and price.

The WH CH530 takes a simpler approach but still provides long battery life, call noise reduction and everyday connectivity features.

The different designs, prices and battery ratings give users several options depending on how they plan to use their headphones. While the premium model puts greater emphasis on audio customization, the affordable WH CH530 stands out mainly for its long playback time.

For now, Sony has announced UK availability beginning September 10, with information about availability in other markets yet to be provided.
