OnePlus N6 Lite May Launch In India As Cheapest OnePlus Phone
OnePlus N6 Lite could launch in India by September end as the companys most affordable smartphone, with 4GB RAM and an expected price below the N6.

OnePlus appears to be preparing a new entry level smartphone for the Indian market, and this time the company could be targeting buyers looking for a lower priced option.
The upcoming device is expected to be called the OnePlus N6 Lite. According to a recent leak, the smartphone could arrive in India by the end of September 2026 and may become the cheapest phone in the companys current lineup.
Information about the possible launch comes from tipster Abhishek Yadav, who reportedly shared the claim on September 7 through social media platform X. The leak suggests that OnePlus is working on the new budget model, although the company has not announced an official launch date yet.
The N6 Lite could join the existing N series as a more affordable sibling to the OnePlus N6 and N6x. The positioning is particularly interesting because the new handset is expected to sit below the N6x in terms of pricing.
Details about the phones specifications are still limited. The leak currently points to 4GB RAM, but there is no confirmed information about its storage capacity, processor, display or camera system.
A 4GB RAM configuration would indicate that OnePlus is looking at the entry level portion of the smartphone market with this model. The company could focus on keeping the price low while offering its software experience to customers who do not want to spend more on a premium OnePlus device.
The expected pricing will be one of the most important factors. The OnePlus N6 was launched in India with a starting price of Rs 22999. Since the N6 Lite is reportedly being positioned below that model, there is a possibility that its price could be considerably lower.
However, there is no official price information yet. The final figure will depend on the hardware OnePlus chooses for the Indian version and the configuration it decides to sell.
The N6 Lite is also likely to face strong competition from several budget smartphones already available in India. Buyers in this segment generally compare processors, battery capacity, display quality, camera hardware and software support before making a decision.
For a better idea of what the new Lite model could offer, the existing OnePlus N6 provides a useful reference. The N6 features a 6.75 inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex processor.
The phone also comes with a 50MP rear camera and an 8000mAh battery. Charging support is rated at 45W, while the software experience is based on Android 16 with OxygenOS 16.
It is not clear whether the N6 Lite will retain any of these specifications. A Lite version would normally be expected to make compromises in areas such as processing power, cameras, display technology or charging in order to achieve a lower selling price.
The large battery of the N6 could also be difficult to carry over to a cheaper model without affecting the final cost. OnePlus may therefore choose a different combination of hardware for the N6 Lite.
Another question is whether the company will offer more than one memory configuration. The current leak only mentions 4GB RAM, while storage details remain unknown. More information could emerge closer to the launch.
The timing could work in OnePlus favour if the company manages to keep the price aggressive. Smartphone prices have been under pressure in recent months because of rising component costs, making affordable new models particularly relevant for buyers working with a limited budget.
A phone priced below Rs 20000 with the OnePlus name could attract customers who want a familiar brand without moving into the higher priced segment. But its success will ultimately depend on how much hardware the company manages to offer at that price.
For now, the OnePlus N6 Lite remains an unconfirmed product. The reported September launch window, 4GB RAM and lower price positioning come from leaks rather than an official OnePlus announcement.
If the reports prove accurate, the N6 Lite could become an important addition to the companys N series in India. More details about the processor, storage, display, cameras, battery, price and exact launch date are expected before the smartphone officially goes on sale.
