Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition Teased On Flipkart

Harry Potter fans could soon have another reason to look forward to a smartphone launch. Realme has started teasing a mysterious Harry Potter themed product on Flipkart, and the clues strongly suggest that the company is preparing a special edition of the Realme 16 Pro.

The teaser does not reveal the phone name or complete specifications. Instead, Realme has used a luggage themed visual with three old style brown suitcases placed on a trolley. The words Let The Magic Begin and Coming Soon appear alongside the image.

The suitcase design has led to speculation that the product is connected to the Harry Potter universe, particularly the famous Platform 9¾ theme. Realme has not yet officially confirmed all the details, but the teaser clearly points towards a Harry Potter themed launch.

A possible design of the smartphone has also appeared online. A render reportedly shared by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore was later removed, but not before the image offered a look at what the special edition could look like.

The leaked render shows a dark brown rear panel with a leather like texture and a diamond pattern. Gold coloured detailing appears around the edges, giving the phone a more premium appearance than the regular model.

The rear camera section is shown inside a large square module. However, the biggest design element is placed in the centre of the back panel, where a metallic Hogwarts crest can be seen.

The crest reportedly features symbols representing the four Hogwarts houses. The design also includes the famous Hogwarts motto and Harry Potter branding, making it clear that the proposed edition is being designed with fans of the franchise in mind.

If the leaked design turns out to be accurate, this will be more than a simple colour variant. Realme could position the phone as a collector style product with changes to its exterior design, software experience and retail packaging.

The hardware details are also beginning to emerge through leaks. The Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition is expected to be offered with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Interestingly, the same configuration is already available with the regular Realme 16 Pro.

That raises an important question about the special edition. It is currently unclear whether Realme will make any hardware changes or concentrate mainly on the Harry Potter inspired design and software experience.

The company has confirmed the Harry Potter themed teaser in India through Flipkart, but the launch price and actual sale date have not yet been announced. More information is expected as Realme moves closer to the official reveal.

If the Harry Potter Edition retains the hardware of the standard Realme 16 Pro, buyers can expect a large AMOLED display. The regular model features a 6.78 inch panel with a resolution of 1272 by 2772 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate.

Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max chipset. The phone also comes with a large 7000mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging, making battery capacity another major part of its specifications.

Photography is another area where the standard Realme 16 Pro offers high specifications. It features a 200MP main rear camera with OIS, along with an 8MP ultrawide camera. A 50MP front camera is provided for selfies and video calls.

It remains to be seen whether the Harry Potter Edition will use exactly the same camera hardware or receive any changes. Realme has not provided enough information yet to confirm that part.

For now, the teaser is doing most of the talking. The Hogwarts inspired clues, luggage theme and leaked brown and gold design have already created plenty of interest around the upcoming phone.

The biggest details still missing are the official name, price, launch date and exact list of Harry Potter themed additions. Realme could also reveal customised wallpapers, icons, packaging or other accessories when it officially introduces the device.

If the leaked information is accurate, the Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition could appeal mainly to fans who want something different from a regular smartphone. For everyone else, the standard Realme 16 Pro hardware may remain the more important comparison.
