Kukke Subramanya Temple Cancels Ashlesha Bali and Naga Prathishta on Select September Dates

The administration of Kukke Sri Subramanya Temple has announced changes to the schedule of certain special religious services in September. The decision has been taken in view of important religious observances, including Sri Krishna Janmashtami, Dashami and Ekadashi.

According to the temple administration, special services will not be conducted on September 3, 4, 6 and 7. Devotees planning to visit the famous pilgrimage centre for specific rituals have been advised to keep these dates in mind before making travel arrangements.

Ashlesha Bali, Naga Prathishta and Maha Abhisheka are among the services that will remain unavailable on the specified dates. Sarpa Samskara related services have also been mentioned in the advisory for devotees planning special religious rituals at the temple.

The restrictions are linked to the religious calendar. September 3 and 4 coincide with the observance of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, while September 6 and 7 fall around Dashami and Ekadashi observances. Because of these occasions, the temple has made temporary changes to its special service schedule.

Importantly, the cancellation of these services will not affect regular devotees visiting the temple for darshan. The administration has clarified that devotees can continue to have the darshan of the deity as usual.

The temples routine religious activities will also continue without interruption. Daily rituals, including Mahapuja, Shesha Seva, Abhisheka and Archana, will be conducted according to the regular schedule.

Kukke Subramanya is widely known as an important pilgrimage centre associated with serpent worship, and many devotees visit the temple specifically to perform rituals such as Sarpa Samskara, Ashlesha Bali and Naga Prathishta. For such visitors, checking the service schedule before travelling is particularly important.

Devotees who have been planning these special services are advised to adjust their travel plans and advance bookings according to the revised dates. The temporary cancellation applies only to the specified special services and dates.

The temple management has requested devotees to cooperate with the arrangements and follow the revised schedule. Since regular darshan and daily worship will continue, visitors coming only for darshan are not expected to face disruption because of the temporary changes.
