Nelamangala Toll Rates to Rise From September 1, Check New Charges
The Nelamangala Devanahalli toll plazas will see revised charges from September 1, with motorists paying up to Rs 10 more depending on their vehicle category.
The revised toll charges on the Nelamangala Devanahalli stretch are set to come into effect from midnight on September 1. The increase is expected to add to the travel expenses of motorists using the highway between Nelamangala and Hassan.
According to the details provided, the toll rates have been increased by Rs 5 to Rs 10 across different vehicle categories. The revision applies to toll plazas operated on the Nelamangala Devanahalli Express Private Limited section on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
For cars, jeeps, vans and other light motor vehicles, the single journey charge under the earlier rate was Rs 85 when paid through FASTag. This will now increase to Rs 90. The revised charge will apply from September 1.
Light commercial vehicles and goods vehicles will also see a change. Their single journey toll will rise from Rs 100 to Rs 105, while the charge for a day of travel will be Rs 155.
Bus and truck operators will face a single journey charge of Rs 205 under the revised rates. The applicable daily travel charge has also been revised to Rs 310.
For multi axle vehicles and other large vehicles, the toll will increase to Rs 330 for a single journey. The daily travel charge for this category will be Rs 495.
The latest revision comes at a time when transportation costs are already a concern for regular highway users. People who frequently travel between Bengaluru and Hassan could feel the impact more noticeably because the toll forms an additional expense on repeated journeys.
Toll charges are generally revised according to the applicable highway fee regulations and concession arrangements. However, the latest increase has already become a point of discussion among motorists who use the route regularly.
For daily commuters, transport operators and people travelling long distances for work or business, even a small increase in every trip can add up over time. Many motorists are therefore questioning the need for another increase when vehicle owners already pay various taxes and charges.
