Poco X8 5G Launching September 4 With 9,000mAh Battery and IP69K Protection
Poco X8 5G is set to launch in India with a 9,000mAh battery, 1.5K AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate and strong durability features for mid range buyers.

Poco is preparing to add another model to its Indian smartphone portfolio with the upcoming Poco X8 5G. The new handset is scheduled to arrive alongside the Poco X8 Power 5G on September 4 at noon.
Ahead of the launch, promotional material and a Flipkart microsite have revealed several details about the phone. Poco appears to be putting considerable emphasis on battery life, display quality and durability, making these some of the main talking points of the upcoming device.
The company has not yet revealed the complete specifications, including the final processor, camera details and retail price. Those details are expected to be announced during the launch event.
Poco X8 5G Launch Date and Availability
The Poco X8 5G will officially launch in India on September 4 at 12 noon. The smartphone will be introduced alongside the Poco X8 Power 5G.
After the launch, the device is expected to be sold through Flipkart. Buyers will have to wait until the official event for the complete pricing and hardware information.
The early teasers suggest that Poco is targeting users who want a smartphone capable of handling long hours of daily use while offering a sturdy build.
1.5K AMOLED Display With 120Hz Refresh Rate
The Poco X8 5G is expected to feature a 1.5K resolution AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen uses slim and evenly sized bezels, giving the phone a modern appearance.
Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection is also included to provide additional protection for the display. The phone is expected to support Dolby Vision, while dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support should improve the multimedia experience.
The display, overall design and build approach appear to be closely related to the Poco X8 Power 5G.
9,000mAh Battery Takes Centre Stage
Battery capacity is likely to be one of the biggest attractions of the Poco X8 5G. The phone is equipped with a large 9,000mAh battery, with Poco claiming that it can provide up to around 3.2 days of usage under typical conditions.
The device is also expected to support 67W wired fast charging. In addition, 22.5W wired reverse charging could allow the phone to provide power to compatible accessories or other devices.
Poco is also highlighting features such as smart charging and bypass charging. Support for the PPS charging protocol is expected, while the company is claiming up to six years of battery health.
Strong Build and IP69K Rating
Durability is another area where the Poco X8 5G is expected to stand out. The phone has reportedly passed SGS drop resistance testing and carries an IP69K protection rating.
The handset follows a flat edge design, with a dual camera setup placed on the rear panel. The combination of a reinforced build and display protection is aimed at users who want a more durable everyday smartphone.
Expected Colours and Design
The Poco X8 5G is expected to arrive in multiple finishes, including Black, Frost White and an Orange or Rust shade. The flat frame gives the device a clean look, while the rear camera arrangement keeps the overall design relatively simple.
With a large battery, high refresh rate AMOLED display and strong protection, Poco seems to be focusing on practical features rather than relying only on performance specifications.
The processor, camera hardware and official pricing remain key details that are yet to be confirmed. More information should become available when Poco officially introduces the X8 5G in India on September 4.
