Vivo X500 Pro Max May Feature 200MP Zeiss Telephoto Camera

Vivo X500 Pro Max is expected to bring a powerful 200MP Zeiss telephoto camera, advanced zoom technology, fast charging and flagship hardware to the upcoming X500 series.

Vivo is reportedly preparing its next premium smartphone lineup, and the camera hardware appears to be one of the biggest upgrades planned for the X500 series. The upcoming range is expected to include the Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro and Vivo X500 Pro Max, with the top model attracting the most attention for its ambitious telephoto setup.

According to information shared by Vivo product manager Han Boxiao on Weibo, the Vivo X500 Pro Max will feature a 200 megapixel Zeiss telephoto camera. The camera is also expected to support in sensor zoom technology, while a 400mm telephoto extender could give the phone much greater reach when photographing distant subjects.

That combination could make the X500 Pro Max particularly interesting for photography enthusiasts. Subjects such as sporting events, wildlife, concerts and distant buildings can be difficult to capture clearly on conventional smartphone cameras. A dedicated telephoto system with extended focal reach could offer users more flexibility without having to carry a separate camera.

The Pro Max has also appeared on the China Compulsory Certification database with the model number V2602DA. The listing indicates 5G connectivity, while reports suggest the device could support 90W fast charging. Certification information does not reveal the complete specifications, but its appearance suggests that development of the handset is moving forward.

Performance is another area where Vivo could take a major step forward. Reports have suggested that the X500 Pro Max may be powered by MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. Tipster Digital Chat Station has also indicated that Vivo is testing the phone with a new imaging system.

The camera improvements may not be limited to the Pro Max. The Vivo X500 Pro is expected to carry a 64 megapixel Zeiss telephoto camera with an 85mm focal length. This model could also use the Dimensity 9600 Pro processor, giving it a strong performance focus alongside its camera capabilities.

The X500 Pro is reportedly being designed as a relatively compact flagship. A 6.37 inch display is expected, which would make it noticeably smaller than many premium smartphones currently available. The rear camera system could include a 50 megapixel primary sensor, a 50 megapixel ultra wide camera and a 64 megapixel periscope telephoto camera.

Battery capacity could be another major highlight. Reports indicate that the X500 Pro may pack a battery exceeding 7,000mAh. If this information turns out to be accurate, the device could offer unusually high battery capacity for a compact flagship smartphone.

The X500 series is also expected to build on the camera focused approach seen with the current Vivo X300 Pro. The X300 Pro features a 6.78 inch 1.5K LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset.

Its camera setup includes a 50 megapixel Sony LYT 828 primary camera, a 200 megapixel telephoto camera and a 50 megapixel JN1 ultra wide camera. The phone also has a 6,510mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

With the X500 Pro Max, Vivo appears to be pushing the telephoto experience even further. The reported 200 megapixel Zeiss camera, in sensor zoom and 400mm extender could become the defining features of the flagship. However, Vivo has yet to officially reveal the complete specifications, pricing or launch details for the series.

For now, the X500 lineup remains surrounded by reports and certification sightings. If the leaked camera and hardware details are accurate, the X500 Pro Max could become one of Vivo’s most photography focused smartphones yet.
