NHAI Annual Rs 3,075 FASTag Pass: Enjoy Toll-Free Travel for Up to One Year

The pass eliminates the need for frequent FASTag recharges, allowing users to enjoy seamless, cashless travel throughout its validity period.

The introduction of the FASTag system by the Central Government a few years ago has significantly reduced congestion at toll plazas across India’s national highways. Vehicles now pass through toll booths much faster, making highway travel smoother, quicker, and more convenient.

To further enhance the travel experience, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) recently introduced the Annual FASTag Pass. Initially launched at Rs 3,000, the pass is now priced at Rs 3,075. Despite the slight price revision, it has become a cost-effective and convenient option for millions of private vehicle owners who frequently travel on national highways.

What Is the FASTag Annual Pass?

The FASTag Annual Pass is a special facility introduced by the Central Government and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for owners of private, non-commercial vehicles, including cars, jeeps, and vans, travelling on National Highways (NHs) and NHAI-managed expressways.

The pass eliminates the need for frequent FASTag recharges, allowing users to enjoy seamless, cashless travel throughout its validity period. Priced at Rs 3,075, the Annual FASTag Pass remains valid for one year from the date of activation or up to 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes first.

Based on the total cost, each toll crossing works out to roughly Rs 15–16, making it an economical choice for motorists who regularly use national highways and cross multiple toll plazas throughout the year.

How to Apply for the Annual FASTag Pass:

Vehicle owners can apply for the Annual FASTag Pass through the official Rajmarg Yatra mobile app or the NHAI website. To apply, users need to log in using the account linked to their FASTag, enter their vehicle details, and complete the payment using UPI, net banking, or a debit/credit card. Once the payment is successful, the pass is typically activated automatically within 2 to 24 hours.

Where Is the Annual FASTag Pass Not Valid?

The Annual FASTag Pass is not valid at toll plazas located on State Highways. It also cannot be used on toll roads or expressways that are managed by state governments, local authorities, or private operators.

The pass is applicable only at toll plazas on National Highways and expressways managed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). At all other toll plazas, the FASTag will continue to function as usual, and the standard toll charges will be deducted from the linked FASTag account.

Digital Local Pass for Nearby Residents:

In addition to the Annual FASTag Pass, NHAI also offers a Digital Local Pass for residents living within a 20-kilometre radius of a toll plaza.

Eligible residents can purchase a monthly pass for approximately Rs 340–350, which allows unlimited travel through the designated toll plaza during the pass’s validity period.

According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, lakhs of private vehicle owners across India have already opted for the Annual FASTag Pass. The initiative has helped reduce waiting times at toll plazas while enabling motorists to save both time and money.

For frequent highway travellers, the NHAI Annual FASTag Pass is an affordable, convenient, and hassle-free solution that makes long-distance travel more efficient while reducing the need for repeated FASTag recharges.
