Google Pixel Watch 5 and Pixel Tag Arrive in India With Smart Features

Google has expanded its wearable lineup in India with the launch of the Pixel Watch 5 alongside its first Pixel Tag Bluetooth tracker. Both products were introduced during the companys Made by Google 2026 event, with the smartwatch aimed at health and fitness users while the tracker is designed to help locate everyday belongings.

The Pixel Watch 5 starts at Rs 42999 for the 41mm version, while the larger 45mm model costs Rs 45999. Pre orders are now open, with sales scheduled to begin on August 20, 2026.

The smartwatch features a domed Actua 360 AMOLED LTPO display with a peak brightness of 3000 nits. The screen supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 60Hz and includes an always on display. Corning Gorilla Glass is also used for added scratch resistance.

Under the hood, the Pixel Watch 5 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Accelerated platform alongside a Cortex M55 co processor. Google says the new dual chip setup improves performance over the previous generation while also offering more RAM. The watch comes with 64GB of eMMC storage.

Health tracking is one of the main attractions of the new smartwatch. It includes ECG, AFib detection, heart rate alerts, blood oxygen monitoring, heart rate variability, breathing rate and skin temperature tracking. Users also get sleep monitoring with breathing regularity analysis and a personalised sleep score.

Google has introduced Health Guardian features as well. These tools can analyse longer term health data and provide monthly summaries covering areas such as blood pressure patterns, sleep breathing quality and insulin resistance trends. Google makes clear that these features are not intended to replace professional medical diagnosis.

Another notable addition is Breathing Emergency Detection. Google says the feature uses the watchs sensors and on device AI to identify serious and sustained drops in oxygen saturation. The system is designed as an additional safety feature rather than a replacement for emergency medical care.

For workouts, the Pixel Watch 5 supports more than 50 activities and comes with an upgraded dual frequency GPS system. Google says the improved GPS can provide more accurate route tracking during outdoor activities.

Gemini is also more closely integrated into the smartwatch. Users can interact with Gemini from their wrist, while the assistant can work with information connected to services such as Gmail and Calendar to provide relevant suggestions.

Battery life has received an upgrade as well. Google claims up to 30 hours of use for the 41mm model and up to 40 hours for the 45mm version on a single charge. A 15 minute charging session is claimed to provide up to 15 hours of battery life. The smartwatch also carries an IP68 rating.

Pixel Tag

Alongside the smartwatch, Google has introduced Pixel Tag, a Bluetooth tracker designed for items such as keys, wallets and bags. The device works with Googles Find Hub network and is positioned as an alternative to popular item tracking products already available in the market.

Pixel Tag is priced at Rs 3799 for a single unit in India, while a four pack costs Rs 12900. The tracker will initially be offered in Fog, although sales are not scheduled to begin until November 2026 through the Google India online store.

The tracker uses Bluetooth Channel Sounding and Ultra Wideband technology to help users locate nearby items. Find Hub can provide location information and directional guidance, making it easier to find the tagged object.

A built in speaker can be activated remotely through the Find Hub app. The button on the Pixel Tag can also be used to make a paired phone ring, even when the phone is set to silent. Google says users can also ask Gemini to make the tracker ring.

The Pixel Tag uses a replaceable CR2032 coin cell battery, with Google claiming more than a year of battery life. It carries an IP67 rating and is designed to withstand being submerged in up to one metre of water for 30 minutes. The tracker works with Android devices running Android 9 or later.
