The State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official notification for the recruitment of 1,538 Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) posts under a special recruitment drive. Candidates who have completed a graduate degree from a recognized university are eligible to apply.

The online application process began on August 7, 2026, and will remain open until August 27, 2026. Interested candidates must submit their applications through the SBI Careers portal.

Applicants are allowed to apply for only one State or Union Territory. They will also be permitted to appear for the examination only once. Candidates must have knowledge of the local language of the State or Union Territory for which they are applying.

Preliminary Examination

Main Examination

Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT), if applicable

The preliminary examination is expected to be held in September 2026, while the main examination is likely to take place in October or November 2026. The preliminary exam will carry 100 marks and will have a duration of one hour. It will consist of objective-type questions from three sections. A negative marking of one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to each question will be applicable for every incorrect answer.

SBI has clarified that there will be no sectional or overall qualifying marks in the preliminary examination. However, candidates must secure the minimum aggregate qualifying marks prescribed by SBI in the main examination. There are no separate sectional cut-offs in the main exam either.

Candidates who did not study the local language of the selected State or Union Territory in Class 10 or Class 12 will be required to appear for the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT). The test will assess the candidate’s ability to read, write, speak, and understand the relevant local language.

SBI Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit:

As of April 1, 2026, candidates must be:

Minimum Age: 20 years

Maximum Age: 28 years

This means applicants born between April 2, 1998, and April 1, 2006 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply.

Candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per SBI’s recruitment rules.
