Bus Accident in Himachal Pradesh: Eight death, seven seriously injured

Bus Accident in Himachal Pradesh: A tragic road accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district on Saturday morning claimed the lives of at least eight people, including the bus driver and conductor. Seven others sustained serious injuries after the bus plunged onto a road nearly 100 feet below.

The private bus operated by Sharma Travels was travelling from Bairagarh to Chamba. The bus had left Bairagarh around 6:30 a.m. and met with the accident after covering just three kilometres. According to preliminary information, the bus lost control at the Chaluj bend near Devikothi and fell onto the road below. Overspeeding is suspected to be the primary cause of the accident.

As soon as the incident was reported, police teams and administrative officials rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. The injured passengers were shifted to the Civil Hospital in Tissa for treatment, Chamba SP Vijay Kumar Saklani said.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
