OnePlus Phones Set To Receive Android 17 Based ColorOS 17 Update
OnePlus has confirmed a major software transition for eligible devices, bringing ColorOS 17 with improved performance, AI features, security updates, and better system stability.
OnePlus users have received an important update regarding the company’s upcoming software plans. The brand has confirmed that selected smartphones and tablets will receive the Android 17 based ColorOS 17 update as part of its new software strategy.
The shift from OxygenOS to ColorOS 17 is expected to gradually roll out across supported OnePlus devices. According to the company, this move will help improve software development, speed up update releases, and provide users with a more stable experience.
OnePlus explained that moving towards ColorOS will allow better use of its research and development resources. The company expects this approach to reduce software issues, deliver new features faster, and improve overall system performance across supported devices.

Among the flagship smartphones, several premium OnePlus models are expected to receive the update. The eligible devices include OnePlus Open, OnePlus 15, OnePlus 15R, OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 13s, OnePlus 13T, OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, and OnePlus 11.
The update will not be limited to flagship phones. Several Nord and N series smartphones are also expected to get ColorOS 17. These include OnePlus N6, OnePlus Nord 6, OnePlus Nord CE 6, OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite, OnePlus Nord 5, OnePlus Nord CE 5, and OnePlus Nord 4.
OnePlus tablet users will also be included in the update rollout. The supported tablet lineup is expected to include OnePlus Pad 4, OnePlus Pad 3, OnePlus Pad 2, OnePlus Pad Lite, and OnePlus Pad Go 2.
For users whose devices are not included in the list, the phone may have completed its promised major Android update cycle. Such devices could continue receiving limited security updates, but they may not get the major ColorOS 17 upgrade.
The company has not announced the exact rollout schedule yet, but eligible OnePlus users can expect more information about availability and features in the coming months.
