Google Pixel 11a Leak Hints at Tensor G6 Chip and Major AI Upgrades
Leaked details suggest the upcoming Google Pixel 11a could feature a flagship processor, smoother display, upgraded selfie camera, enhanced AI tools, improved connectivity, and refined performance across daily tasks

Google’s next affordable smartphone, the Pixel 11a, is already creating excitement ahead of its expected launch. Although the company has not officially announced the device, several leaks have revealed key specifications that point to one of the biggest upgrades ever for the Pixel A series. If the reported details prove accurate, the upcoming model could deliver flagship level performance while maintaining its position in the mid range segment.
The most notable change is expected to come from the processor. According to leaked information, the Pixel 11a may be powered by Google’s next generation Tensor G6 chipset, the same processor that is expected to debut in the flagship Pixel 11 lineup. Bringing this chip to the A series would mark a significant shift, offering faster performance, improved multitasking, and more advanced artificial intelligence features for everyday users.
Google is also reportedly planning to improve network performance with the introduction of a MediaTek M90 modem. This would replace the Samsung modem used in previous models. The new modem is expected to provide stronger connectivity, reduce call drops, and improve battery efficiency during mobile data usage.
The display is also tipped to receive meaningful improvements. Reports suggest the Pixel 11a could feature a 6.3 inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels. The screen is expected to support an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 60Hz to 120Hz, allowing smoother animations while conserving battery when higher refresh rates are not needed. Peak brightness could reach around 3350 nits, making the display easier to view even in bright outdoor conditions.
Google’s Pixel smartphones have built a strong reputation for camera performance, and the Pixel 11a may continue that tradition. Leaks indicate that the device could include a newly upgraded front camera sensor, although its megapixel count has not yet been revealed. The new camera is expected to deliver improved selfies and sharper video calls with the help of Google’s AI powered image processing technology.
The smartphone is also expected to feature 8GB of RAM, providing enough memory for smooth multitasking and efficient app performance. Combined with the Tensor G6 processor, users can expect faster app launches, better background task management, and more responsive AI powered functions throughout the operating system.
While the internal hardware may receive major improvements, the overall design is expected to remain familiar. Early reports suggest Google will retain a look similar to previous Pixel A series devices rather than introducing a complete redesign. Instead, the company appears to be focusing on enhancing performance, software intelligence, and user experience.
At present, Google has not confirmed the launch date of the Pixel 11a. Industry reports indicate that the smartphone is likely to arrive after the flagship Pixel 11 series, which is expected to debut in August. As a result, buyers interested in Google’s next affordable smartphone may have to wait until next year for the official announcement.
It is important to note that all of these specifications are based on leaks and industry reports. Until Google makes an official announcement, the final hardware, features, and launch timeline could change. Even so, the early information suggests the Pixel 11a could become one of the most powerful and feature rich smartphones in Google’s affordable Pixel lineup.
