iQOO 16 Leak Hints at Massive 8500mAh Battery and Premium Gaming Features

Fresh leaks suggest the upcoming iQOO 16 could feature a huge battery flagship Snapdragon chipset advanced cameras stereo speakers and several upgrades aimed at gaming and performance enthusiasts worldwide.

The next flagship smartphone from iQOO may bring significant upgrades if recent leaks are accurate. Reports suggest the company is preparing the iQOO 16 with a larger battery, a next generation Snapdragon processor, and several premium features focused on gaming, photography, and everyday performance. While the company has not officially confirmed the specifications, the latest information has generated considerable interest among smartphone enthusiasts.

One of the biggest highlights of the leaked specifications is the massive 8500mAh battery, which could become one of the largest batteries offered in a flagship smartphone. The increased battery capacity is expected to provide extended screen time for gaming, streaming, and productivity without frequent charging.

According to a post shared by tipster Digital Chat Station on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, an engineering prototype of the iQOO 16 is currently being tested with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. The processor is expected to be paired with the Adreno 850 GPU, promising improved graphics performance and faster overall processing compared to the previous generation.

The smartphone is also expected to receive several hardware enhancements designed specifically for gamers. Leaks indicate the device could feature symmetrical dual stereo speakers for immersive audio, while an X axis linear motor may deliver more precise haptic feedback during gaming sessions and everyday interactions. Reports also suggest iQOO is developing a redesigned thermal management system to reduce heat buildup during intensive workloads.

For photography enthusiasts, the iQOO 16 could include a periscope telephoto camera, offering better zoom capabilities than conventional telephoto lenses. Although complete camera specifications have not yet been revealed, the inclusion of a periscope lens indicates that the company may continue focusing on flagship level imaging performance.

Security features are also expected to receive an upgrade. The smartphone may come equipped with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is generally considered faster and more reliable than traditional optical fingerprint sensors while providing improved accuracy under different conditions.

Recent reports have also revealed that the handset was spotted in the IMEI database with the model number I2601, suggesting that development is progressing. However, another report claimed that rising memory chip prices could reduce the chances of the smartphone launching in India. The company has not commented on these reports, leaving the availability of the device uncertain.

The upcoming model is expected to succeed the iQOO 15, which was launched with premium flagship specifications. The previous generation featured a 6.85 inch Samsung M14 8T LTPO AMOLED display with 2K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 6000 nits. It also offered a triple 50 megapixel rear camera system including a primary sensor, a periscope telephoto lens, and an ultra wide camera, along with a 32 megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.

The iQOO 15 was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and included AI powered features, a 7000mAh battery, 100W wired charging, and 40W wireless charging. If the leaked details about the iQOO 16 prove accurate, the new model could deliver substantial improvements in battery life, gaming performance, and overall user experience, making it a strong contender in the flagship smartphone segment.
