The Ministry of Education has begun the application process for the National Teachers Award 2026, inviting nominations from outstanding educators serving in schools across the country. The prestigious award recognizes exceptional contributions made by teachers to the field of school education.
Teachers, headmasters, and principals working in government, government-aided, and recognized private schools are eligible to apply. However, applicants must have completed a minimum of 10 years of regular service. Teachers appointed on a contractual basis are not eligible for this award.
Eligible candidates must submit their applications through the official online portal after carefully reading the guidelines and ensuring that all required documents are ready before the submission process.
The last date to apply is July 13, 2026. Candidates are advised to complete the online application well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.
The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages. Applications will first be reviewed by district and state-level committees. The shortlisted candidates will then be evaluated by an independent National Jury, which will make the final selection of award recipients.
Education authorities have encouraged deserving teachers to make use of this opportunity. The National Teachers Award is considered one of the highest recognitions for school educators, offering a platform for their contributions to be acknowledged at the national level.
