Ola Electric Unveils S1 X Plus With Extended Range and New Battery Technology
Ola Electric expands its scooter lineup with a new high capacity variant offering long range improved performance and upgraded battery technology as demand for electric two wheelers continues to grow in India

Electric mobility in India is gaining fresh momentum as Ola Electric introduces a new variant in its scooter lineup, the Ola S1 X Plus 5.2 kWh. The launch comes at a time when the company is witnessing a steady rise in registrations and renewed consumer interest in electric two wheelers.
The newly introduced scooter focuses heavily on range and performance. It is powered by a 5.2 kWh battery pack featuring the company’s in house developed 4680 Bharat Cell technology. With this setup, the scooter is claimed to deliver a range of around 320 kilometers on a single charge, positioning it among the longer range options in its category.
Performance upgrades are also a key highlight. The scooter is equipped with an 11 kW mid drive motor paired with an integrated motor control unit. This combination is designed to deliver a smoother riding experience along with better power efficiency. The model also includes features such as brake by wire technology and a front disc brake setup, adding to safety and control. Its top speed is reported to reach approximately 125 kilometers per hour.
In terms of pricing, the company has introduced the scooter at an introductory ex showroom price of 1,29,999 rupees for a limited period. Officials have indicated that the price may be revised after mid April, making the current offer more attractive for early buyers.
The launch also reflects Ola Electric’s broader strategy to strengthen its portfolio. The company already offers multiple variants across its S1 range, including different battery configurations to cater to varied customer needs. Alongside scooters, Ola has also been expanding into electric motorcycles, aiming to build a comprehensive presence in the EV segment.
Recent sales data highlights the company’s improving performance. Registrations for its electric two wheelers saw a significant jump in March, crossing over ten thousand units, compared to lower figures in February. Daily order volumes reportedly picked up in the last week of March, suggesting growing consumer confidence.
A key factor behind this recovery appears to be improvements in after sales service. The company has focused on streamlining spare parts availability and strengthening its service network. Faster turnaround times and same day servicing for many vehicles have helped address earlier customer concerns, which had previously impacted sales.
Ola Electric has also crossed a major milestone, surpassing one million registrations for its electric two wheelers. In addition, the company recently reduced the price of its electric motorcycle Roadster X Plus, making it more competitive in the market.
With the introduction of the S1 X Plus 5.2 kWh, Ola Electric is aiming to attract buyers who prioritize longer range and stronger performance without moving into significantly higher price brackets. The launch signals intensifying competition in India’s electric scooter segment, where innovation and value continue to drive purchasing decisions.
