Xiaomi Unveils 508L Smart Refrigerator with Rapid Ice Making and Advanced Air Purification
New Mijia smart refrigerator offers large storage capacity, fast ice production in under an hour, and smart connectivity features designed to improve food freshness, hygiene and everyday kitchen convenience

Xiaomi has expanded its smart home portfolio with the launch of the Mijia Refrigerator Pro Premium Cross Door 508L, a high capacity appliance designed for modern households looking for smart cooling solutions. The new refrigerator combines advanced storage design with intelligent features aimed at improving freshness and hygiene.
One of the key highlights of this new model is its 508 litre total capacity, which is divided into multiple sections for better organization. It includes a 297 litre refrigerator compartment, a 35 litre variable temperature zone and a 176 litre freezer, allowing users to store different types of food in a more structured way.
The company has priced the refrigerator at 9999 yuan, which is approximately 1.36 lakh rupees. It is currently available for pre order in China and comes in multiple finishes including Ice Crystal White, Star Silver and Apricot Glass, giving it a premium look suitable for modern kitchens.
A major focus of the design is hygiene and freshness. The refrigerator features Full Area Ion Purification 4.0 technology, which claims to eliminate odors in just a few minutes and significantly reduce bacteria, fungi and viruses. Along with this, silver ion antibacterial protection and a specially designed inner lining help maintain cleanliness inside the compartments.
Cooling performance is handled through a dual system that uses separate evaporators and fans for the refrigerator and freezer sections. This helps prevent odor mixing while maintaining stable temperature control across different storage zones. The system is also designed to retain moisture, which the company claims helps keep fruits and vegetables fresh for up to seven days.
Another standout feature is its automatic ice making system, which can produce ice in around 55 minutes. The module also includes smart alerts for water levels and ice storage, making everyday usage more convenient while maintaining hygiene through antibacterial materials.
Smart connectivity is another important aspect of this appliance. The refrigerator supports HyperOS Connect and comes with a built in display that allows users to manage settings easily. It is also designed for quieter operation, running at around 31dB, along with improved energy efficiency for long term use.
With this launch, Xiaomi is clearly aiming to strengthen its position in the premium smart appliance segment, offering a combination of large capacity storage, intelligent cooling features and modern connectivity tailored for connected homes.
