Xiaomi Prepares First Over Ear Redmi Headphones Neo with Long Battery and ANC
Upcoming Redmi Headphones Neo may offer 72 hour battery life, active noise cancellation, and modern connectivity, aiming to deliver a strong audio experience in an affordable wireless headphone segment

After years of focusing on wireless earbuds, Xiaomi is now stepping into a new category with its first over ear headphones under the Redmi lineup. The upcoming Redmi Headphones Neo has surfaced online through early listings, revealing key features and hinting at an affordable price strategy.
The device is expected to focus heavily on battery performance. Reports suggest that the headphones could deliver up to 72 hours of playback on a single charge, a figure that would place them among the longer lasting options in their segment. This extended battery life could appeal to users who prefer uninterrupted listening without frequent charging.
Audio performance also appears to be a priority. The headphones are said to include 40mm titanium coated drivers, designed to deliver a wide frequency range and balanced sound output. In addition, active noise cancellation support of up to 42dB is expected, which could help reduce background noise and improve the overall listening experience in busy environments.
Connectivity features include support for Bluetooth 5.4, ensuring stable and efficient wireless performance. This modern standard is likely to offer better range and lower power consumption compared to older versions, aligning with the device’s long battery claims.
Design and color options are expected to include Obsidian Black and Sand White at launch, with another variant possibly arriving later. The overall design is likely to follow a minimal yet modern aesthetic, suitable for everyday use as well as travel.
While the company has not officially confirmed pricing, early retail listings suggest a price close to the budget segment, roughly around the equivalent of 5000 rupees. If this holds true, the headphones could compete strongly with existing affordable wireless audio products.
The official launch timeline remains unclear, but multiple reports indicate that the release could happen soon, with additional color variants possibly arriving later in the year. With a mix of long battery life, noise cancellation, and competitive pricing, Xiaomi appears ready to expand its footprint in the wireless audio market beyond earbuds.
