X Faces Global Outage Leaving Thousands of Users Unable to Access Platform
Elon Musk owned X experienced a worldwide disruption affecting web and app users with login timeline and posting issues reported across multiple countries before services gradually began stabilizing again.

Thousands of users across the world were left frustrated after social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, went through a major global outage. The disruption, which began suddenly, affected both the mobile app and web version, making it difficult for users to access basic features like timelines, profiles, and posts.
Many users reported that their feeds were not loading properly, while others were unable to view replies or media content. In some cases, the platform appeared completely unresponsive, while a few users were still able to post but could not interact with other sections of the app. Error messages and blank screens added to the confusion during the outage.
According to outage monitoring platform Downdetector, user complaints spiked within minutes of the issue emerging. Reports came in from several countries, including the United States and other major regions, indicating that the disruption was not limited to a single location but had a wider global impact.
The issue reportedly began during the morning hours in the US and later extended to evening time in India, quickly affecting tens of thousands of users. At one point, the number of outage reports surged close to 30,000, highlighting the scale of the technical problem and how widely it spread across the platform.
Interestingly, X did not release any immediate official statement explaining the cause of the outage in the early hours of the incident. This left users relying on third party tracking websites and other social media platforms to understand what was happening. As time passed, the number of reports gradually started decreasing, suggesting that technical teams were working on resolving the issue.
Within a few hours, some users began noticing partial recovery in services, although performance remained inconsistent in certain regions. The gradual restoration indicated that the platform was slowly returning to normal after the widespread disruption.
This is not the first time X has experienced such technical issues. Earlier this year in January, the platform faced a similar global outage that affected login access and feed loading for thousands of users. That incident also saw limited communication from the company regarding the root cause.
X remains one of the most widely used real time social media platforms in the world, serving millions of users for breaking news, live updates, and public conversations. Even short periods of downtime can significantly impact users, content creators, and businesses that rely on the platform for communication and engagement.
For now, services appear to be stabilizing across most regions. However, users still experiencing issues may need to wait as the platform continues restoring full functionality globally.
