Vivo and iQOO Increase Smartphone Prices as Component Costs Continue to Rise

Several popular Vivo and iQOO smartphones have become more expensive in India after recent price revisions, reflecting growing pressure from rising memory chip costs and supply challenges.

Indian smartphone buyers may now have to spend more on some of the most popular premium and performance focused devices from Vivo and iQOO. The two brands have quietly revised the prices of several smartphones, with some models witnessing increases of up to Rs 3,000 across different storage variants.

The latest move comes at a time when the global smartphone industry is facing mounting pressure from rising component costs. Industry experts have repeatedly pointed to increasing memory chip prices as one of the major reasons behind the upward trend in smartphone pricing. Manufacturers are now gradually passing a portion of these additional costs on to consumers.

Among the affected devices, the Vivo T5 Pro has received one of the biggest price revisions. The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, which was originally launched at Rs 29,999, is now available for Rs 32,999. Similarly, the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model has moved from Rs 33,999 to Rs 36,999. Both versions have become Rs 3,000 more expensive compared to their launch pricing.

The price changes are not limited to Vivo alone. iQOO has also revised the pricing of several models in its flagship and performance oriented portfolio. The iQOO 15 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage now carries a price tag of Rs 74,999, up from Rs 72,999. The higher storage variant featuring 12GB RAM and 512GB storage has also seen a Rs 2,000 increase and is now priced at Rs 81,999.

Another lineup impacted by the revision is the iQOO 15R series. The entry level 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version now costs Rs 47,999 instead of Rs 46,999. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant has moved up to Rs 52,999, while the top model with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is now available for Rs 59,999. These adjustments further strengthen the trend of rising prices across premium smartphone categories.

The iQOO Neo 10 series has also become more expensive. Buyers looking at the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version will now have to pay Rs 37,999, compared to the earlier Rs 35,999. Likewise, the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model now costs Rs 42,999 after a Rs 2,000 increase.

The revised pricing has already been implemented across official brand websites and major online retail platforms. Customers planning to purchase any of these devices may notice the updated prices while browsing online stores.

The broader smartphone market has been witnessing similar developments over the past several months. Supply chain disruptions and increased manufacturing expenses have pushed component prices higher, especially for memory and storage solutions. Analysts believe that if the current trend continues, more smartphone brands could announce price revisions in the coming months.

For consumers, this means that delaying a purchase decision may result in paying more later, particularly in premium and upper mid range segments. While manufacturers continue to focus on delivering better performance, advanced cameras, and enhanced user experiences, the rising cost of essential components is increasingly influencing retail prices.

The recent revisions by Vivo and iQOO highlight how global supply challenges are reshaping smartphone pricing strategies. As the industry adapts to these changing conditions, buyers may need to prepare for a market where premium features come with steadily rising price tags.
