TCL P80 Series Brings Three New Smartphones With Powerful Cameras And Large Batteries

TCL has expanded its smartphone portfolio with the launch of the new P80 series at IFA 2026. The company, better known for its Smart TV business, has introduced three models under the lineup, namely TCL P80 Ultra, TCL P80 Pro and TCL P80.

The new phones are aimed at users looking for a combination of display quality, camera performance and battery life. While TCL has revealed the specifications of the three smartphones, the company has not yet announced their prices.

The TCL P80 Ultra sits at the top of the series and brings the most advanced hardware among the three models. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Elite processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 16GB of RAM expansion. Storage goes up to 512GB.

A 5800mAh battery powers the phone, with support for 45W fast charging. TCL has also equipped the device with a multi camera setup consisting of a 50 megapixel primary sensor, a 50 megapixel 3x periscope telephoto camera and an 8 megapixel ultra wide camera. A 32 megapixel camera is placed on the front for selfies and video calls.

The phone is available in Sunlight Gold, Burgundy and Midnight Blue. It also gets TCLs NXTPAPER technology, which is one of the key highlights of the premium model. The display technology is designed to reduce glare and reflections while creating a more comfortable viewing experience, particularly during extended use.

TCL says the NXTPAPER experience combines a hardware based natural soft light system, Nano Crystal Shield Glass and technology designed to support eye comfort throughout the day. The company has positioned the feature as an option for people who spend considerable time reading or viewing content on their phones.

The TCL P80 Pro shares much of its core hardware with the standard P80 model but increases the available storage and RAM expansion. It supports 8GB of RAM with up to 16GB of RAM expansion and offers up to 512GB of storage.

The phone features a 6.83 inch AMOLED Sunlight display with a 1.5K resolution, up to 3200 nits of brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate and full DCI P3 colour coverage. This combination is designed to provide a sharper and smoother viewing experience while remaining suitable for outdoor use.

Under the hood, the P80 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Elite processor. It has a 5000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. The rear camera system includes a 50 megapixel main camera with OIS and EIS, along with an 8 megapixel ultra wide camera. A 32 megapixel front camera handles selfies.

The handset measures 7.5mm in thickness and weighs 178 grams. It runs Android 16 and TCL has promised four major Android operating system upgrades. Other features include Google Gemini, Circle to Search, an AI assistant, Bluetooth 5.4, dual SIM support, a side mounted fingerprint sensor, dual speakers and dual microphones.

The P80 Pro comes in Sunlight Gold and Midnight Blue. Its IP68 rating also provides protection against dust and water, adding some durability for everyday use.

The standard TCL P80 shares several specifications with the Pro version, including the display, processor, battery, camera hardware and software experience. However, the standard model offers up to 256GB of storage instead of the 512GB option available on the Pro model.

The P80 series shows TCL is trying to bring some of its display expertise from the television market into smartphones. The company is particularly highlighting screen quality and its NXTPAPER technology, while the higher end Ultra model focuses more strongly on camera hardware and battery capacity.

All three smartphones are expected to appeal to different groups of buyers within the same family. The standard P80 targets users who want the essential features, while the Pro adds more storage and the NXTPAPER experience. The Ultra goes further with a larger battery, a periscope camera and a more powerful processor.

TCL has not confirmed the pricing or exact availability details for the P80 series yet. More information about regional launches and prices is expected as the company prepares to bring the new smartphones to different markets.
