Sony Xperia 1 VIII Set for Launch With Triple Camera Setup and Premium Design Features Leaked
Sony is preparing to launch its next Xperia flagship with upgraded display, powerful Snapdragon chipset, triple camera system, and premium pricing expected across global markets in coming weeks

Sony is once again preparing to grab attention in the premium smartphone segment as reports suggest that the company is readying the launch of its next flagship device. The upcoming model, widely believed to be the Sony Xperia 1 VIII, is expected to replace last year’s Xperia 1 VII and continue the brand’s focus on high end design and camera performance.
Interestingly, Sony itself has started building anticipation through official teasers. A post shared on the social platform X confirms that a launch event will take place in Japan on May 13. Along with this, a YouTube teaser carrying the tagline Next One Is Coming strongly hints that the device belongs to the Xperia 1 series. The company has also created a dedicated microsite, which has already revealed the presence of a triple rear camera setup.
At the same time, early leaks and listings have started painting a clearer picture of what to expect. A listing spotted on Amazon Germany reportedly mentioned the Sony Xperia 1 VIII with a price tag of around 1868 euros, which roughly converts to 2,07,700 rupees. This bundle may also include Sony WH1000XM6 wireless headphones, making it a premium package offering.
On the hardware front, the device is expected to continue Sony’s tradition of powerful performance. Reports suggest it may feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, ensuring flagship level speed and efficiency. The phone is also likely to be available in multiple color options including black, silver, and red, catering to different user preferences.
The display is expected to remain one of the key highlights. The Sony Xperia 1 VIII may come with a 6.5 inch Full HD Plus OLED screen supporting a 120 Hz refresh rate. This combination is designed to deliver smooth visuals and an immersive viewing experience, especially for multimedia and gaming users.
Camera capabilities are once again expected to be a strong focus. The leaked details point to a triple rear camera system consisting of a 24 mm primary lens, a 16 mm ultra wide sensor, and a 70 mm telephoto lens. This setup suggests that Sony is continuing its professional style photography approach, targeting users who value detailed image control.
Further credibility to these leaks comes from regulatory listings. A device with model number PY7-30515Z recently appeared on the US Federal Communications Commission database, which is believed to be linked to the Xperia 1 VIII. The listing also confirms support for 5G connectivity, Wi Fi, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a feature still appreciated by many users.
Looking back at its predecessor, the Xperia 1 VII featured a similar 6.5 inch OLED HDR display with 120 Hz refresh rate and was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor along with the Adreno 830 GPU. With the upcoming model, Sony appears ready to refine this formula rather than completely reinvent it.
As anticipation builds, all eyes are now on the official launch event in Japan. If leaks turn out to be accurate, the Sony Xperia 1 VIII could position itself as a premium flagship focused on display quality, camera precision, and classic Sony engineering.
