Samsung Ends Sales of Its Triple Fold Smartphone After Limited Run Sells Out

Samsung has officially discontinued its Galaxy Z TriFold after limited stock sold out globally, marking the end of availability while hinting at future foldable innovation plans still under development.

Samsung’s experimental triple fold smartphone has officially reached the end of its commercial journey. The company has confirmed that the Galaxy Z TriFold is completely sold out and will not be restocked in any market. With availability now ending in both the United States and South Korea, the device has effectively exited global sales channels.

The rollout of the Galaxy Z TriFold was always designed to be extremely limited. First introduced in South Korea in December last year, the device was released in small batches and quickly disappeared from shelves due to restricted availability. Later, Samsung attempted limited sales in the US market as well, including a brief restock on April 10, which again sold out rapidly, confirming strong but short lived demand.

This smartphone was never intended to become a mainstream product. Instead, Samsung positioned the Galaxy Z TriFold as an experimental device meant to showcase the next stage of foldable innovation. Its unique dual hinge triple folding design stood out as a bold engineering concept rather than a mass market phone.

Despite its discontinuation, Samsung has not closed the door on the idea entirely. The company has suggested alternatives such as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy S26 Ultra for users looking for premium experiences. At the same time, industry reports indicate that a next generation version of the TriFold concept could still be in development, potentially with a more refined and practical design.

On the specification side, the Galaxy Z TriFold carried high end hardware that matched its experimental positioning. It featured a 6.5 inch Full HD Plus Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display and ran on Android 16 based One UI 8. Power came from the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with up to 16 GB RAM and storage options reaching 1 TB.

Camera capabilities were also a major highlight of the device. It included a 200 megapixel primary sensor, supported by a 12 megapixel ultra wide lens and a 10 megapixel telephoto camera, offering a versatile imaging setup aimed at flagship level photography performance.

Battery life was supported by a 5600 mAh unit with 45 W wired fast charging and 15 W wireless charging. Even though the device is no longer available, it has already made its mark as one of Samsung’s most ambitious foldable experiments, setting the stage for what could come next in the company’s evolving foldable lineup.
