Redmi Turbo 5 Debuts in India With Massive Battery and Gaming Focus

Redmi Turbo 5 arrives with a huge battery, flagship grade performance, advanced cooling technology, premium durability features and fast charging, targeting gamers and power users across India.

Xiaomi has officially expanded its smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Redmi Turbo 5, a device designed for users who demand long battery life, strong performance and a premium feature set. The new smartphone marks the arrival of the Turbo series in the Indian market and aims to attract gamers, content creators and multitasking enthusiasts looking for a powerful daily driver.

One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi Turbo 5 is its enormous 7540mAh battery, which is among the largest ever introduced in a Redmi smartphone. The company claims the battery is capable of comfortably lasting up to two days under heavy usage conditions. To complement the large battery, the phone supports 100W HyperCharge technology, allowing users to quickly recharge and get back to work, gaming or entertainment without long waiting times.

Performance is another area where the Redmi Turbo 5 attempts to stand out from competitors. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. This hardware combination is built to handle demanding applications, intensive gaming sessions and seamless multitasking. Users can also configure the device with storage capacities reaching up to 512GB.

To ensure stable performance during prolonged gaming sessions, Xiaomi has equipped the handset with a large 5300mm² vapor chamber cooling system. The advanced cooling setup is designed to manage heat efficiently, helping maintain consistent frame rates and smooth gameplay even during extended use. The device also supports gaming at up to 120 frames per second, making it appealing to mobile gaming enthusiasts.

The Redmi Turbo 5 features a 6.59 inch 1.5K AMOLED display that delivers vibrant visuals and sharp details. Whether users are watching movies, editing videos or browsing social media, the display is designed to provide an immersive viewing experience. High brightness levels further improve outdoor visibility, making the screen easier to use under direct sunlight.

Photography capabilities have also received attention. The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup led by a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor with optical image stabilization support. This is accompanied by an 8MP ultra wide camera for capturing wider scenes and landscapes. On the front, a 20MP camera handles selfies and video calls, offering clear image quality for everyday use.

Adding a distinctive visual element, Xiaomi has introduced customizable Pixel Matrix LED Ring Lights on the rear panel. These lights can be personalized for incoming calls, notifications, charging status, music playback and gaming alerts. The feature not only improves functionality but also gives the smartphone a unique identity in a crowded market.

On the software front, the Redmi Turbo 5 runs on Android 16 based HyperOS 3. The latest operating system brings a refreshed user experience along with enhanced optimization and smart features. Interestingly, the same software platform is expected to power Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship devices as well.

Durability has been given equal importance. The smartphone comes with multiple protection certifications including IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. These certifications indicate strong resistance against dust, water exposure and challenging environmental conditions, making the device suitable for users who need extra reliability.

Xiaomi has announced that sales of the Redmi Turbo 5 will begin on June 19 through its official online store, Amazon India and authorized retail outlets across the country. The smartphone is available in multiple configurations, with introductory bank offers reducing the effective purchase price for early buyers.

With a combination of a huge battery, premium performance hardware, advanced cooling technology, capable cameras and rugged durability, the Redmi Turbo 5 enters the Indian market as a strong contender in the upper midrange smartphone segment. The device is expected to appeal particularly to users seeking flagship style features without stepping into ultra premium pricing territory.
