Oppo Reno 16 Series Set for Launch as Pre Reservations Begin in China
Upcoming Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro smartphones are expected to feature powerful Dimensity processors 200 megapixel cameras and upgraded displays with early reservations now open in China ahead of official launch

The smartphone market is once again gearing up for a new release as Oppo prepares to introduce its next generation Reno lineup. The Reno 16 series is expected to debut soon, and early interest has already started building as pre reservations open in China.
According to official updates shared on Weibo, the new series will include two models, the Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro. Both devices are likely to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity processors, continuing the brand’s focus on performance oriented mid premium smartphones.
The launch is expected to take place later this month in China, following the release pattern of its predecessor, the Reno 15 series, which arrived last year. However, the company has not yet confirmed any details regarding an international rollout, leaving global users waiting for further announcements.
The standard Reno 16 is rumored to feature a 6.32 inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals for everyday use and gaming. It may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, designed to balance efficiency and performance in the upper mid range segment.
On the other hand, the Reno 16 Pro is expected to bring a larger 6.78 inch 1.5K LTPO OLED display with adaptive refresh rate support. It could be equipped with the more advanced Dimensity 9500s chipset, positioning it closer to flagship level performance.
Battery life may also see a significant upgrade in the Pro variant, with reports suggesting a large 7000 mAh battery supporting both 80W fast charging and wireless charging capabilities. This would make it one of the more endurance focused devices in its category.
Camera improvements appear to be a major highlight across both models. The Reno 16 series is expected to feature a 200 megapixel primary rear camera with optical image stabilization, aiming to deliver higher detail and better low light performance. This focus on imaging continues Oppo’s push toward photography centric smartphones.
Earlier this year, Oppo expanded its lineup with the Reno 15 FS 5G in international markets. That device featured a 120 Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, and a versatile triple camera setup, including a 50 megapixel main sensor and support for 4K video recording.
With the upcoming Reno 16 series, Oppo appears to be refining its formula further by combining high resolution cameras, upgraded displays, and stronger processors. As pre reservations begin, anticipation is steadily rising among users looking for a balance of design, performance, and photography in a single device.
