Oppo Pad Mini Set for April 21 Launch with Compact Design and Powerful Performance

Oppo is preparing to expand its tablet lineup with the launch of a new compact device, the Oppo Pad Mini, scheduled to debut on April 21. The tablet is expected to launch first in the Chinese market, with growing anticipation among users who have been waiting for a smaller yet powerful Android tablet.
Interestingly, the device is being positioned as a performance focused compact tablet rather than a budget option. It will reportedly feature a slim 5.39mm profile, making it one of the thinnest tablets in its category. The design also includes uniform narrow bezels, giving it a modern and immersive look despite its smaller size.
At the core of the Oppo Pad Mini is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which is expected to deliver flagship level performance. The device is paired with up to 12GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and efficient handling of demanding apps. Oppo claims that the overall performance improvement could reach up to 52 percent compared to previous generation devices.
The tablet sports an 8.8 inch OLED display with a 2.5K resolution, designed to offer sharp visuals and vibrant color output. A 144Hz refresh rate further enhances the experience, making scrolling, gaming and media consumption feel fluid and responsive. This combination suggests that Oppo is aiming to balance portability with premium display quality.
Battery life is another key highlight. The Oppo Pad Mini is expected to house an 8000mAh battery, which should support extended usage for entertainment, work and travel needs. Despite its slim build, the device aims to maintain reliable endurance throughout the day.
The tablet is also expected to arrive in multiple color options including lavender, green and slate, giving users some personalization choices. While the official pricing has not yet been revealed, expectations remain high as the launch date approaches.
Alongside the Pad Mini, Oppo is also preparing to introduce the Oppo Pad 5 Pro, indicating a broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the tablet segment. With the Pad Mini, the company appears to be targeting users who want a lightweight device without compromising on performance or display quality.
