Motorola Razr Fold Set for Global Launch as Pre Orders Open in Europe

Motorola prepares to expand its foldable lineup with premium Razr Fold featuring triple 50 megapixel Sony camera setup and flagship level specifications ahead of expected international release next month

The foldable smartphone market is once again heating up as Motorola gears up for the global debut of its new book style device, the Motorola Razr Fold. With pre orders already live in parts of Europe, anticipation is building for an official launch expected in the coming weeks.

The device was recently showcased at the Mobile World Congress, where it drew attention for its premium design and high end specifications. In the United Kingdom, listings suggest that pre orders will continue until early May, while the exact global launch date has not yet been confirmed by the company.

Pricing details indicate that the Razr Fold will sit firmly in the premium segment. The European variant, featuring 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, is expected to be priced around 1,799 euros, placing it among the most expensive foldables in the market. Buyers will reportedly be able to choose between Pantone Lily White and Pantone Blackened Blue colour options.

The smartphone’s design focuses heavily on display experience. On the outside, it features a 6.6 inch LTPO pOLED cover screen with a 165 Hz refresh rate and extremely high peak brightness levels, protected by durable glass ceramic technology. Inside, the device offers an 8.1 inch 2K LTPO pOLED folding display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and enhanced brightness for immersive viewing.

Performance is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor paired with an Adreno GPU, positioning the device firmly in flagship territory. The combination of high end hardware and foldable engineering reflects Motorola’s attempt to compete more aggressively in the premium smartphone space.

Camera capabilities stand out as one of the biggest highlights of the Razr Fold. The device is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup, led by a 50 megapixel Sony LYTIA primary sensor. It is joined by a 50 megapixel periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom and a 50 megapixel ultra wide camera, making it one of the most versatile systems in the foldable category.

For selfies and video calls, the device includes dual front camera support with a 32 megapixel sensor on the outer display and a 20 megapixel camera on the inner screen. This setup allows users to capture content in different modes depending on how the device is folded.

Battery life is another strong focus, with the Razr Fold reportedly housing a 6000 mAh battery that supports 80 W fast charging and 50 W wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi Fi, NFC, GPS, and regional navigation systems, while a range of sensors supports smooth everyday operation.

Foldable smartphones continue to grow in popularity worldwide, with competition intensifying across brands. While Samsung remains a dominant player in this segment, Motorola’s latest entry signals its intent to strengthen its presence in the high end foldable market with more aggressive innovation and design focus.
