Motorola prepares to bring its new Edge 70 Pro smartphone to India featuring a large battery fast charging advanced cameras and upgraded performance focused on power users and content creators

Motorola is gearing up for another major release in its smartphone lineup with the upcoming launch of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro in India. The device is scheduled to debut on April 22, and its dedicated listing has already gone live on Flipkart, hinting at strong pre launch interest.
The smartphone is expected to arrive in three color options and will target users looking for a balanced mix of performance, battery life, and camera capabilities. Motorola is positioning this model as a performance centric upgrade in its Edge series, building on the momentum of its recently introduced lineup.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset built on a 4nm architecture. It will run on Android 16 based Hello UI, offering a clean interface with added software enhancements and AI driven features aimed at improving everyday usability.
One of the biggest highlights of the Edge 70 Pro is its massive 6500mAh battery, which supports 90W TurboPower fast charging. The company claims that this combination is designed to reduce downtime while ensuring long lasting usage, making it suitable for heavy users and gamers.
Camera performance is also a key focus area. The smartphone is expected to feature a dual rear setup with a 50 megapixel Sony LYT 710 primary sensor and a 50 megapixel ultra wide lens. On the front, a 50 megapixel autofocus camera is included for selfies and video calls, with support for 4K video recording at 60 frames per second.
To handle heat management during extended usage, Motorola has equipped the device with a 4600 square millimeter vapor cooling chamber. This is intended to maintain stable performance during gaming sessions and intensive multitasking, while AI based optimizations further enhance system efficiency.
In terms of software and features, the phone will include several artificial intelligence tools designed to improve photography, performance, and user interaction. Motorola is increasingly focusing on integrating smart features across its premium devices.
The Edge series has seen steady expansion, with models like the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion already introduced in select markets. A higher variant, the Edge 70 Fusion Plus, has also been showcased with differences mainly in its camera system and hardware tuning, indicating Motorola’s strategy of offering multiple options within the same generation.
With its combination of a large battery, high resolution cameras, and next generation chipset, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro is shaping up to be a strong contender in India’s competitive upper mid range smartphone segment.
