Meta Expands Smart Glasses Lineup With Ray Ban Meta Optics Styles Featuring AI and Camera
Meta introduces new smart glasses with built in camera AI assistant and audio features designed for everyday use combining vision correction style and connected technology in one wearable device

In a move that blends fashion with advanced technology, Meta has unveiled its latest smart eyewear, the Ray Ban Meta Optics Styles. Developed in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, the new lineup marks a step forward in bringing AI powered features into everyday accessories.
Unlike earlier smart glasses, this new range is designed with prescription users in mind. It allows customers to choose from different lens types including single vision, progressive and transition lenses, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use without needing to switch frames.
One of the most notable features is the built in 12 megapixel camera, capable of capturing photos and videos in up to 3K resolution. This enables users to record moments hands free, adding convenience for content creation and daily use. The glasses also include a six microphone system that enhances audio clarity during calls and recordings.
The device goes beyond just capturing visuals. It integrates an AI assistant that can respond to voice commands, answer questions and provide contextual information based on what the user is seeing. A dedicated action button offers quick access to these features, making interaction more seamless.
Entertainment and communication are also central to the experience. Users can listen to music and podcasts through platforms like Spotify and Amazon Music, make calls, and send messages directly from the glasses. This positions the device as a multifunctional wearable rather than just a visual aid.
Design improvements have also been introduced to enhance comfort. The frames feature a slimmer profile, adjustable temple tips and interchangeable nose pads, allowing users to customize the fit. Additional hinge flexibility ensures better adaptability for different face shapes.
The product is priced at around 499 dollars and will initially be available in the United States, with pre orders beginning in early spring and retail sales shortly after. A wider rollout is planned across regions including Europe, Australia and the Middle East, with other markets expected to follow later.
With this launch, Meta is clearly pushing to make smart glasses more practical and appealing for everyday users. By combining vision correction, AI capabilities and multimedia features, the company is aiming to turn wearable tech into a more natural part of daily life.
