Lava Virat Curve to Launch in India With Curved AMOLED Display

Lava is getting ready to add a new smartphone to its Virat lineup, and this time the company is bringing a noticeable design change. The Lava Virat Curve has been confirmed for an Indian launch on September 21, with the company already revealing several details about the upcoming device.

The smartphone is expected to stand out mainly because of its curved screen and unusual rear design. Lava has placed a small display near the rear camera module, giving the phone a feature that is not commonly seen in this price segment.

This rear mini display is designed to show useful information such as notifications, time, battery status and volume indicators. Users may also be able to display custom messages and emojis on the small screen, adding a different touch to the phone’s overall design.

Up front, the Virat Curve is expected to carry a 6.67 inch 3D curved AMOLED display. The panel is said to offer Full HD Plus resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, while peak brightness could reach 1100 nits. The company is also highlighting military grade protection, suggesting that durability will be another part of the phone’s appeal.

Performance is another area where Lava appears to be making a significant change. The Virat Curve is expected to use the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, which would make it the first phone in the Virat series to use this processor. The device could come with 6GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB internal storage, along with support for another 6GB of virtual RAM.

Battery capacity is one of the confirmed highlights. The smartphone will carry a large 6000mAh battery and is expected to support 45W fast charging. Lava has indicated that the phone can provide around 660 minutes, or roughly 11 hours, of YouTube video playback after a full charge under its testing conditions.

Photography will also receive attention on the new Lava phone. The Virat Curve is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup led by a 50 megapixel Sony IMX752 sensor. The main camera could support 2K video recording at 30 frames per second. An 8 megapixel front camera is expected to handle selfies and video calls.

Lava is also adding several artificial intelligence features to the smartphone. These are expected to include AI Call Summary, AI Voice Translation and AI Circle Search. Such tools could make the phone more useful for everyday communication and information searches.

The company has confirmed that the Virat Curve will be sold through Flipkart, while two colour options have already been shown. Buyers can expect Heritage Indigo and Makrana Ivory finishes.

Pricing has not yet been officially announced. However, reports and information from tipsters suggest that the Lava Virat Curve could be positioned around Rs 25000 in India. The final price and complete specifications should become clearer around the launch.

With its curved AMOLED panel, large battery, rear mini display and new processor, the Virat Curve looks like a different approach from Lava’s earlier Virat smartphones. The company is clearly trying to give the device a more distinctive identity rather than relying only on standard specifications.
