Infosys to Hire 20000 Freshers as AI Business Gains Momentum
Infosys will recruit around 20000 fresh graduates this financial year while expanding AI services, maintaining campus hiring, reporting strong revenue growth, and exploring new opportunities in healthcare and technology.

Infosys has reaffirmed its commitment to campus hiring, announcing plans to recruit around 20000 fresh graduates during the current financial year. The decision comes at a time when artificial intelligence is reshaping the technology industry and prompting many companies to rethink their hiring strategies.
Speaking during the company’s first quarter earnings announcement, Chief Executive Officer Salil Parekh said Infosys would continue investing in young talent despite the growing use of AI across its operations. He noted that the company had hired 20000 college graduates in the previous financial year and intends to maintain the same pace this year. More than 4000 graduates have already joined the company during the first quarter.
The announcement stands out as several technology firms have slowed recruitment amid the rapid adoption of AI. While automation has changed the nature of software development and improved productivity, Infosys believes entry level technology roles continue to play an important part in its long term growth strategy.
The company said its investments in artificial intelligence over the past few years are delivering encouraging results. AI related services have recorded double digit growth, with these offerings contributing around 8.2 percent of the company’s total revenue during the latest quarter. According to Parekh, AI has consistently improved productivity across multiple business functions over recent quarters.
Alongside its AI expansion, Infosys is also looking beyond traditional technology services. The company said it is exploring new growth opportunities in sectors such as healthcare as part of its broader business strategy.
Financially, Infosys reported mixed results for the June quarter. Revenue from operations rose about 14 percent year on year to Rs 48211 crore, compared with Rs 42279 crore in the corresponding period last year. The increase reflects steady business demand despite challenging global market conditions.
However, quarterly profitability came under pressure. Net profit for the June quarter declined around 9 percent compared with the previous quarter to approximately Rs 7769 crore, marking one of the company’s sharpest sequential profit declines in recent years. On a year on year basis, consolidated net profit still registered a healthy increase of around 12 percent.
The company’s workforce also recorded a slight decline during the quarter, with employee strength reducing by 532. Infosys currently employs nearly 328000 people worldwide. Despite the marginal reduction in headcount, the company said salary hikes for employees will be implemented soon, reinforcing its focus on retaining talent while continuing to invest in future growth.
