Forza Horizon 6 Leak Surfaces Before Launch as Massive Game Files Reportedly Spread Online
Highly anticipated racing title faces early controversy after alleged Steam preload mistake leads to unencrypted files appearing online ahead of official release and triggering widespread gameplay leaks

The gaming community is buzzing after reports surfaced that Forza Horizon 6 has been leaked before its official release. The upcoming racing title, which fans have been eagerly waiting for, is now at the center of controversy after claims emerged that its PC build appeared online earlier than planned. Screenshots and gameplay clips have already started circulating across social platforms, adding fuel to the discussion.
According to early reports, the issue may have originated from a mistake during the Steam preload process. It is being claimed that unencrypted game files were accidentally made accessible, which eventually led to a massive build, reportedly around 155GB, showing up on SteamDB. Shortly after, users began sharing parts of the game on forums and discussion threads, with some even suggesting that playable versions may have reached unofficial distribution channels. Neither Playground Games nor Microsoft has issued an official response so far.
Despite the leak concerns, the official release timeline for Forza Horizon 6 remains unchanged. The game is scheduled to launch on May 19 for PC and Xbox Series S and X. Players who purchase the Premium Edition will reportedly get early access starting May 15, giving them a few days head start before the global rollout. On PC, the game will be available through both Steam and the Xbox app, and it will also be included on day one for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. A later release on PlayStation 5 is also planned.
Beyond the controversy, excitement around the game remains strong due to its expanded gameplay features. One of the key additions includes new systems like Car Meets and Estate customization, allowing players to build and personalize their in game spaces in more detail than before. These upgrades are expected to enhance the social and creative side of the racing experience.
This latest entry in the franchise takes players to Japan, offering a fresh open world setting that has already caught the attention of long time fans. Developers have described it as the largest map in the series so far, featuring diverse environments, seasonal transitions, and multiple districts that change gameplay dynamics.
Players will also be able to explore a detailed recreation of Tokyo along with several iconic Japanese landmarks. With Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Editions already open for pre order, anticipation around the official launch continues to grow, even as the early leak adds an unexpected twist to the gameβs pre release story.
