Apple Watch Series 12 Launches With New S11 Chip
Apple Watch Series 12 brings a new S11 chip, redesigned health sensing system, stronger display protection, audio intelligence features and up to 38 hours battery life for everyday smartwatch users.

Apple has expanded its smartwatch lineup with the launch of the Apple Watch Series 12, introducing a new processor and several changes aimed at health tracking and everyday convenience. The new watch arrives alongside the latest iPhone lineup and is positioned as a more advanced wearable for users who want health and smart features on their wrist.
The Apple Watch Series 12 starts at Rs 56,900 in India. Apple has opened pre orders for the smartwatch, with sales scheduled to begin on September 18 through Apple’s online store.
The new model is available in several finishes, including Space Grey, Black, Light Gold and Dark Bronze aluminium options. The company is also offering titanium and ceramic finishes as part of the broader Series 12 range.
One of the major changes is the introduction of Apple’s new S11 chip. The updated processor is designed to handle the watch’s health monitoring, smart functions and software features while maintaining efficient power usage.
Apple has also redesigned the health sensing system inside the watch. The updated system uses larger electrodes to improve contact with the skin during ECG readings. The sensor arrangement also includes photodiodes designed to capture light more efficiently.
For heart rate monitoring, the watch uses larger green LEDs that are designed to be more power efficient. Apple says the improvements help the watch deliver highly accurate heart rate tracking, although real world results can vary depending on factors such as movement and how the watch is worn.
Display protection has received attention as well. Apple Watch Series 12 comes with a Ceramic Shield, and Apple claims that the display is up to 60 percent more resistant to damage compared with the previous protection.
Battery life is another highlighted feature. The company claims that the Apple Watch Series 12 can deliver up to 38 hours of battery life, although actual usage time can differ depending on settings, health tracking, workouts and other features used throughout the day.
The new smartwatch also brings additional audio related intelligence. Its sound recognition system can identify certain everyday sounds, including alarms, doorbells and a baby crying. Such features are designed to make the watch more useful when users cannot immediately hear or check their surroundings.
Another interesting addition is Live Rewind. The feature can show a transcript of the previous 15 seconds of spoken conversation, giving users a way to catch up on something they may have missed.
Siri also receives an updated role on the watch, with Apple introducing its newer Siri AI experience. The company has further added a personalised wellness assistant intended to provide users with information related to their health and daily wellbeing.
The redesigned health system is likely to remain one of the biggest reasons for buyers to consider the new model. Apple has increasingly focused its smartwatch lineup on health monitoring, and the Series 12 continues that direction with updated sensors and software features.
At the same time, the watch is not limited to health functions. Its combination of notifications, voice assistance, audio intelligence and wellness tools makes it a broader everyday companion for iPhone users.
The starting price of Rs 56,900 places Apple Watch Series 12 firmly in the premium smartwatch category. Buyers will also have multiple finish options, allowing them to choose between different materials and appearances.
With the new S11 chip, upgraded sensing hardware, Ceramic Shield protection and additional intelligent features, Apple Watch Series 12 represents a substantial update to the company’s wearable range. Its real value, however, will depend on how these improvements perform during regular daily use.
