Apple Plans Special iPhone 20 Display With Samsung Support for 20th Anniversary Model

Apple is reportedly working with Samsung on an advanced quad curved OLED display featuring ultra thin bezels and under display Face ID as it prepares a landmark iPhone launch for 2027 celebration

As anticipation builds around the 20th anniversary of the iPhone line, Apple is reportedly preparing one of its most ambitious design changes yet. The company is said to be collaborating with Samsung to develop a next generation display that could define the future look of its smartphones.

The device, widely referred to in leaks as the iPhone 20, is expected to feature a completely redesigned OLED panel. According to early reports, the display will adopt a quad curved structure, with all four edges gently bending while maintaining a clean and almost bezel free appearance. This design approach is aimed at delivering a more immersive visual experience.

One of the most talked about possibilities is the introduction of under display Face ID technology. If implemented, this would allow Apple to move key sensors beneath the screen, eliminating visible cutouts and moving closer to a true full screen design. The front of the device is expected to be made almost entirely of glass, giving it a seamless and futuristic look.

Interestingly, the display is also rumored to use a poleless architecture by removing the traditional polarizer layer. This change could improve energy efficiency and reduce power consumption, while also enabling a thinner and brighter panel. Additional technologies such as anti reflective coating and advanced light diffusion layers may further enhance viewing quality in different lighting conditions.

Industry reports also suggest that Apple is focusing on a micro curved glass structure where the edges of the device feel smooth and rounded, while the display itself remains flat for better usability. This combination aims to balance aesthetics with practical daily use, something Apple has traditionally prioritized in its design philosophy.

The collaboration with Samsung is seen as a strategic move, as the Korean tech giant already has strong expertise in producing high quality OLED panels. Together, the two companies are reportedly working on pushing display innovation further than what is currently available in the smartphone market.

While Apple has not officially confirmed any of these details, expectations remain high as the company prepares for a milestone celebration. Major anniversaries have historically been used by Apple to introduce bold design shifts, and the upcoming 20th year of the iPhone is shaping up to be no different.

If these leaks prove accurate, the iPhone 20 could represent a significant leap in smartphone design, combining advanced display engineering with a cleaner and more futuristic user experience that fans have been waiting for.
