Karnataka Heavy Rainfall: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has also forecast heavy rains in many parts of the state for next 24 hours. An orange alert has been declared for 4 districts of Karnataka, namely Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, and Kodagu districts. This alert is said to be likely to cause moderate to heavy rains with thunderstorms in the next 24 hours.

There is a sign of continuous rain in the state due to the southwest monsoon, and it has been advised that heavy rains will occur in southern interior districts including Bangalore on October 21 and 22.
Heavy rain, thunderstorm and gale force winds are expected in coastal Karnataka today, and the same weather is expected to continue in the southern interior. According to the IMD, a rain alert has been issued in the coastal and interior districts of Karnataka till October 25.
An orange alert is in effect in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada districts. It is said that more than 7-11 cm of rain will fall. The wind speed in these districts is said to be 40-50 km per hour. Fishermen on the beach have been warned not to go into the sea.
Kodagu: An orange alert has been declared in this district too, and the risk of landslides has increased and the water level in the rivers may rise. There is a yellow alert in districts like Bangalore, Mysore, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru and other districts, and it has been advised that there will be moderate rain.
Heavy rains may cause waterlogging on roads, traffic jams, power outages and increased waves on the beach. In Bengaluru, waterlogging is already occurring in some parts due to rains and it is said that this water level may increase further in the coming days. For this, the government is taking precautionary measures.
Also, the health department has been instructed to create awareness about rain-related diseases. The public has been advised to be careful while traveling on the roads. It is also better to know the weather report before making any plans.
