BCCI secretary Jay Shah said that there are changes in the ODI World Cup 2023 schedule. This year’s ODI World Cup will be held in India from October 5 to November 19. Jay Shah clarified that there will be a change in the World Cup schedule due to some reasons. He said that he is discussing with ICC and the new schedule will be announced in one to two days. The reason behind the change in the World Cup schedule has also been revealed. Initially there were reports that only the date of the India-Pakistan match would be changed.

The match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan will be played on October 15. But Dussehra Navratri will start on October 15. Security agencies have advised the BCCI that security issues may arise in the process. At the same time, many cricket boards have requested the BCCI to change the schedule of matches played by their country.

The reason for that is that the respective countries are going to play 2 matches in two days. Players from their country will not be allowed to rest due to travel. Therefore, the date of some matches will be changed. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has responded positively to this and said that he will take care not to hold matches immediately.

He said that the gap between matches played by a country will be 3 to 4 days. At the same time, the 6-day gap between matches will be reduced to 4 days. In this regard, he said that he is discussing with ICC and soon the World Cup schedule will be released with minor changes.

According to report, the tournament will be held from October 5 to November 19. However, the dates of some matches in the group stage may be moved forward or backward. BCCI is thinking of holding the match between India and Pakistan on October 14 instead of October 15. Then the match will be held on Saturday.
