Virat Kohli captain again for Team India: BCCI announcement soon?

The demand for a change in Test captaincy for the Indian cricket team is gaining momentum on social media. Fans are suggesting that either Ravichandran Ashwin or Virat Kohli should replace Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli captain again for Team India: BCCI announcement soon?.

Virat Kohli will be appointed again as the captain of the Indian Test team. As per some report Information is available that BCCI will announce this decision in a few days. The BCCI is thinking of removing Rohit Sharma from the captaincy of the Test team after the defeat in the ICC World Test Championship final (WTC final 2023).

Virat Kohli is likely to be given the captaincy once again as the aggressive spirit and fighting spirit of the Test team has disappeared. India’s most successful Test captain, Virat Kohli, resigned from the captaincy of the Test team during the 2022 South Africa tour.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors face a challenging task in finding a new captain, especially considering the aging Indian side. The top six players, apart from Shubman Gill, are all above 34 years old, making the transition even more significant.

Rohit Sharma’s captaincy has come under scrutiny after India’s disappointing loss to Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final. The team suffered a 209-run defeat, further extending their ICC tit Kohli was the fourth-most successful captain in Test history, with 40 victories and 11 draws in 68 matches as the Indian captain.

36-year-old Rohit Sharma’s fitness is a big issue for BCCI. So there are doubts about Rohit Sharma playing in the next WTC season. Due to this reason BCCI has to choose a new captain. Kannadigas KL Rahul is not in the leadership race due to repeated injury problems.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane are no longer in a position to lead. Young players are just now making eye contact in Test cricket. Therefore, it should not be surprising if Virat Kohli wants to captain the Indian Test team. He also ranked third among all 28 Test captains who captained a team in 40 or more matches in terms of win percentage (50 per cent).
