Arjun Tendulkar got big twist in cricket life

Cricket god Sachin Tendulkar son Arjun Tendulkar made waves with a century on his debut for Goa in the Ranji Trophy last year. The BCCI has chosen young players who have excelled in both batting and bowling in recent domestic leagues and the Indian Premier League (IPL) to participate in the camp. Arjun Tendulkar got big twist in cricket life.

Arjun Tendulkar has long been trying to break into the Indian cricket side. In a piece of encouraging news, Arjun has been summoned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) who is in search of future all-rounders. Arjun Tendulkar has been chosen by the BCCI among 20 potential multi-skilled players who could be nurtured to quickly transition from domestic to international cricket.

Along with the other youngsters, Arjun will now undergo a three-week camp at Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy (NCA). Arjun currently plays first-class cricket for Goa and is part of the Mumbai Indians franchise in the IPL. He made his debut in the recently concluded IPL 2023 season.

He may feature in the Emerging Asia Cup (U-23) which is scheduled for later this year.  The players were shortlisted based on “performance and potential”. Apart from Arjun, other prominent names include Saurashtra and Delhi Capitals star Chetan Sakariya, Punjab’s left-handed batter Abhishek Sharma, Goa’s off-spinner all-rounder Mohit Redkar, Rajasthan’s Manav Suthar, Delhi’s fast bowler Harshit Rana and medium pacer Divij Mehra.

The 23-year-old Arjun Tendulkar playing the Goa team after not getting a chance in the Mumbai team. In the last domestic cricket season, he played for Goa in Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy ODI tournament and Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament.

Left-arm fast bowler Arjun Tendulkar, who has played a total of 7 first-class matches, has taken 12 wickets. He has taken 8 wickets from 7 List A matches and 15 wickets from 13 T20 matches. Arjun, who has scored a century in the Ranji Trophy, has scored 223 runs from 7 matches.
