The Intercontinental Cup victory will add to their desire to land another trophy to the cabinet. India had warded off strong opponent Lebanon 2-0 on Sunday at the Kalinga Stadium to win the event. India enters the competition with a strong run of results, which included a triumphant Hero Intercontinental Cup campaign.

The Blue Tigers will be attempting to increase their total of victories and goals, but they must be cautious when playing the Pakistani Falcons. An unbeaten run of 6 games, and Sunil Chhetri’s 87 goals for India, the stakes for this tournament is really high. A victory in the SAFF tournament will also help India gain some valuable FIFA Ranking points and go up in the ladder.
