After Lucknow and Ahmedabad picked their respective players, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has released the much-awaited list for the mega auction. All 10 teams start calculating to take top players. In recent development Rajasthan Royals former player S Sreesanth enter IPL 2022 mega auction with 50 lakh base price.

S Sreesanth’s starting price in the IPL 2022 mega auction is 50 lakhs. Sreesanth previously played in the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals in 2013. He played 44 matches in the short span of his IPL career and took 40 wickets. IN 2021 season the 38-year-old registered himself in the auction at a base price of INR 75 lakhs, but he couldn’t attract any of the franchises.

Sreesanth played with the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. In the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008, Sreesanth became the second leading wicket taker in the tournament after Sohail Tanveer, claiming 18 wickets. Sreesanth appeared only in the second half of the 2009 edition of the IPL. He could not play the initial matches of the season owing to a stress fracture.

He left Kings XI Punjab after the 2010 Indian Premier League and signed for Kochi for the 2011 competition. He signed for Rajasthan royals for the 2012 competition. But he didn’t play in 2012 due to injuries. With his spot-fixing controversy coming into light during the 2013 IPL competition, Rajasthan Royals terminated his contract.

On 25 April 2008, following the victory of his Kings XI Punjab’s victory in the Indian Premier League over the Mumbai Indians at Mohali, Sreesanth was slapped under his eye by Harbhajan Singh, the captain of Mumbai. The incident came to light as Sreesanth was caught by TV cameras sobbing inconsolably on the field before the presentation ceremony.

Sreesanth later downplayed the incident saying he had no complaints against Harbhajan who was “like an elder brother” to him. Harbhajan’s team had lost their third consecutive match when he apparently reacted violently to Sreesanth’s approaching him and saying “hard luck”.

former India bowler S Sreesanth has got added to the auction list for IPL 2022, according to ESPNcricinfo. Indian spinners R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal along with Australian players David Warner and Mitchell Marsh are among 49 cricketers who have reportedly listed themselves in the maximum base price bracket (INR 2 crore) for the auction.

KL Rahul has been picked by Lucknow for Rs. 17 crores while Stoinis and Bishnoi have been signed for Rs. 9.2 crore and Rs. 4 crores, respectively. Marcus Stoinis is a huge pick by the Lucknow team as he has been an integral part of Delhi Capitals side over the past few seasons. Ahmedabad draft picks for IPL 2022 Hardik Pandya (captain) – Rs 15 crore, Rashid Khan – Rs 15 crore, Shubman Gill – Rs 8 crore, Ahmedabad Purse remaining for IPL 2022 auction: Rs 52 crore.

Of the 1,214 names on the Auction Register, 896 are Indian players and 318 overseas players IPL 2022. The list incorporates 270 capped, 903 uncapped and 41 players from Associate nations like Nepal, UAE, Oman, Scotland and the Netherlands. There are 14 players from the USA too. If every franchise were to have the maximum of 25 players in their squad, 217 players will be bought in the auction, of which up to 70 may be overseas players.
