The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be one of two new franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sanjeev Goenka’s RPSG Group owns the squad situated in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mark Wood has been ruled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season with an elbow injury. A report in ‘Espncricinfo’ said that Wood will not represent LSG in the IPL beginning March 26 after picking up a right elbow injury during the first Test against the West Indies last week.

New entrants Lucknow had paid Rs 7.5 crore for Wood at the IPL auction last month. Mark Wood could only bowl 17 overs in the game against West Indies in North Sound. The Lucknow franchise will be led by KL Rahul and coached by Andy Flower.

The two-day IPL super auction concluded successfully on February 13 in Bangalore, with clubs receiving their preferred players. It was intriguing for two new teams, the LSG and the Gujarat Titans, to put together a team to kick off their new seasons.

Lucknow has signed KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Ravi Bishnoi before the major auction. Lucknow Super Giants bought 18 players during IPL 2022 mega auction. Quinton de Kock, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Manish Pandey, Krunal Pandya, and Jason Holder were some of the popular players that Lucknow Super Giants bought in their squad.
