IPL 2023 Final CSK vs GT: MS Dhoni, Shubman Gill set to create a historic record

Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans will clash in the IPL 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. IPL 2023 Final CSK vs GT: MS Dhoni, Shubman Gill set to create a historic record.

Interestingly, both teams had met in the opening match of the season on March 31 at the same venue, with Hardik Pandya’s Titans beating MS Dhoni’s CSK by five wickets.

In the 16th edition of the IPL, CSK reached the final for the 10th time. Chennai Super Kings, who have played in the final 9 times, have lost more than they have won in the final. That means Dhoni’s team has lost 5 times in ten finals.

If Chennai wins, Mumbai Indians will equal the record of being crowned champions for the fifth time. If CSK loses, Gujarat Titans will win the crown for the 2nd time.

In addition, if MS Dhoni plays in the final match against Gujarat, he will become the first player to complete 250 matches in IPL history. Also, he will write a record of being the only player to play 11 IPL finals.

In this match, Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill is all set to break a rare record. Gill, who is in great form, has scored exactly 3 centuries in the last four matches. Through this, Gill is keeping an eye on Kohli’s record.

If Gill scores 123 runs in this match, he will overtake Virat Kohli who holds the record of highest run scorer in one edition. Currently, Virat Kohli holds the record of 973 runs in an IPL season. Gill needs 123 runs to break this.
