IPL 2023: BCCI plan to permanently banned Bangladesh and Sri Lanka players

Indian Premier League IPL 2023 will start from March 31. Many changes will be seen in this IPL season. Meanwhile, a big news related to IPL is coming out. IPL 2023: BCCI plan to permanently banned Bangladesh and Sri Lanka players. Before IPL 2024 BCCI may take big action against players from two countries. These players may be banned from playing the following season.

According to media reports, the BCCI may ban players from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh from playing in the IPL before the next season. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka players will join their teams late in the IPL. BCCI is upset with this decision and has decided to take big action against the players from these countries.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not issued No Objection Certificate (NOC) to its players. Notably, Shakib Al Hasan (KKR), Litton Das (KKR), and Mustafizur Rahman (DC) are part of the upcoming seasons. But they will only be available from April 9 to May 5, then after May 15, which has left the BCCI unhappy with its partial involvement in the tournament.

Meanwhile, four Sri Lankan players are part of the upcoming season: Wanindu Hasaranga, Matheesha Pathirana, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, and Maheesh Theekshana, who will miss the first week of the tournament due to the New Zealand tour. The BCB president, Nazmul Hassan Papon, confirmed that the Bangladeshi players will be unavailable for the IPL due to national duties.

A BCCI official confirmed to Insidesport, “Franchises would be sceptical about picking players from certain countries if they are here to play the tournament partly.” However, a franchise also revealed that the BCCI is unhappy with some player’s partial involvement in the tournament. The Indian board might seem unhappy but the franchises hope that the situation with Bangaldeshi players might change in coming future.
