IPL 2022 KKR Team : Ajinkya Rahane Captain, Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis Enter

IPL 2022 Kolkata Knight Riders KKR Team mega auction count down starts. All 8 franchise announced their Retained players. Reports says Two-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders team plan to take three big players like Ajinkya Rahane Captain, Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis.

Two-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders retained four players ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. All-rounders Andre Russell and Sunil Narine were retained while Venkatesh Iyer and Varun Chakravarthy will also feature for KKR team in IPL 2022. Shubman Gill, Pat Cummins, Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik were not retained by Kolkata Knight Riders

Despite being a regular part of IPL right since the league’s inception, Ajinkya Rahane only entered the IPL auction for the first time in 2018. Since the uncapped players were only included in the IPL auction for the first time in 2014, Rahane spent his stint at Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals without being bought in the auction.

In 2014, RR retained the capped player and Rahane spent another two years with them. In 2016, he was picked by Rising Pune Supergiant in the draft and didn’t enter the auction. In 2018, he entered the IPL auction for the first time. There too, he was retained by RR for Rs 4 crore. The former RR skipper joined DC via trade before IPL 2020 and stayed there for the next 2 seasons. In 2022, it will be the 2nd time when Rahane will enter the IPL auction and Kolkata Knight Riders ready to made him captain for new two season.

And also, big player Suresh Rain will bring a lot of experience to the table and could still be an asset for Kolkata Knight Riders. He has not been in good form, but it is his experience that could turn things in his favour. For only the 2nd time in his IPL career, Suresh Raina will be entering an IPL auction.

He had first joined Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2008 and served as their vice-captain for the next 8 years as he was among players to be retained before 2011 and 2014 IPL mega auctions. In IPL 2022 mega Auction Suresh Rain ready to enter Kolkata Knight Riders.

Faf du Plessis, who was part of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021, might have to end his association with the team in the next edition. Since IPL 2022 is going to witness a mega auction due to the addition of two new IPL franchises, all 8 franchises can only retain 4 players in their squad the next season. As per report KKR will take Faf du Plessis in Mega Auction.
