Karnataka students assault teacher and put dustbin on teacher head, minister told to take action

Students of Government High School in Nallur, Channagiri taluk of Davanagere district of Karnataka were seen assaulted with a teacher during class and put dustbin on teacher head. The video of this incident has gone viral on social media on Friday.

At the same time, now the Karnataka government is looking strict about this matter. Karnataka Education Minister BC Nagesh has said that such an incident of school students with teacher will not be tolerated at all. There is outrage among the people after the video of the misbehaviour of the students went viral.

Karnataka education minister BC Nagesh said, ‘Attack on a teacher by students in a school in Channagiri taluk of Davanagere district cannot be tolerated. The Karnataka Education Department and the police are investigating the matter. Appropriate action has been directed to be taken. We will always stand with the teachers. Actually, a group of students has been seen misbehaving with the teacher.

This act of the students has been strongly criticized by the villagers. He has demanded strict action against the students. The video showed students misbehaving with a Hindi teacher when he entered the classroom. A student tried to beat up the teacher with a dustbin. Later, when the teacher starts teaching in the class, he puts the dustbin on the teacher’s head.

Speaking on the incident, the teacher said that on December 3, packets of gutkha were found scattered in the classroom. He asked the students not to throw them in the classroom and maintain discipline. But when he started teaching, some students created a ruckus. The teacher told that he was afraid that if he filed a complaint with the police, it might cause trouble.

Because of this he remained silent. But this incident came to light when the video went viral on social media. On learning about this, Karnataka MLA Madal Virupakshappa, Deputy Director of Public Education Department GR Thippeswamy hurriedly reached the school and interacted with the staff. He took a written statement from the students that he would not indulge in such activities in future.

At the same time, considering the future of the students, the teachers decided not to file a complaint with the police. Meanwhile, the villagers have demanded that the students involved in this act be given transfer certificates.

Along with this, demanding action against them, also demanded to file a complaint with the police. Reacting to the incident, Deputy Commissioner Mahantesh Bilgi said that he would seek a report from the Deputy Director of Public Education Department. Based on the report, he will take appropriate action.
