IPL 2022 : CSK player Ambati Rayudu announced retirement

Big dram happened in Chennai Super Kings team, IPL 2022: CSK player Ambati Rayudu announced retirement. Ambati Rayudu announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League, saying that the ongoing 2022 edition of the T20 league will be his last. However, CSK player Ambati Rayudu later deleted the tweet.

“I am happy to announce that this will be my last ipl. I have had a wonderful time playing it and being a part of 2 great teams for 13 years. Would love to sincerely thank Mumbai Indians and Csk for the wonderful journey,” he tweeted.

Rayudu started his career in the IPL with Mumbai Indians in 2010. He featured for the franchise till 2017. In the 2018 mega auction, he was roped in by Chennai Super Kings for INR 6.75 crore. The veteran batter has since been a part of CSK. As far as his record in IPL goes, Rayudu has been one of the most consistent performers over the years.

He has played a total of 187 matches in the league, scoring 4187 runs at an average of 29.28. Even this year, Rayudu has been among the top run-getters for the Super Kings. Though the franchise is already out of the playoffs race, Rayudu’s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. He has 271 runs this season in 12 matches at an average of 27.10.

When it comes to his stint with the Mumbai Indians, Rayudu featured in scored a total of 2416 runs at 27.16. He had as many as 14 hundreds to his name for MI. In comparison, for CSK, Rayudu scored 1771 runs at 32.80. He scored 8 fifties and one century for the Yellow Army.
