Ind vs Aus Test: Aakash Chopra hit back to Cricket Australia with a fire cracking tweet

Rohit Sharma’s Team India are set to face their toughest challenge in Test cricket at home as they will host the number one ranked team Australia for a four-match series, starting February 9. The rivalry is expected to be fiery as India have defeated Australia at home and away in the last three Test series between the two countries. Ind vs Aus Test: Aakash Chopra hit back to Cricket Australia with a fire cracking tweet.

Days before the Test series opener, Cricket Australia took to Twitter to take a sly dig at Team India. The Australian cricket team’s social media handle reminded fans on the internet about Team India’s infamous 36 all-out at Adelaide which triggered a few Indian fans. Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra, who is now a renowned broadcaster, came up with a gem of a reply and destroyed Cricket Australia with a four-word tweet of his own.

Aakash Chopra subtly asked Cricket Australia to also share the scoreline of the same series. Notably, Team India came roaring back in the series after getting bundled out for 36 in the first Test and won the series 2-1 on Australian soil. Fans hailed Chopra for taking a stand for Team India and shutting down Cricket Australia for taking an unnecessary dig at Rohit Sharma and co.

Even before the series, the Australians have started playing mind games and let’s hope that this rivalry lives up to the expectations of fans. We have seen in the past how poking the Indian team can backfire for the opposition and we cannot wait for the action to start.

India’s problems were made worse when their skipper Virat Kohli missed the last three Test matches because he had to return home to be with his wife Anushka Sharma for the birth of their daughter. The second Test in Melbourne saw India, led by Ajinkya Rahane, recover and win by an 8-wicket victory to tie the series. India put forth a valiant effort, battling through injuries to tie the third Test in Sydney, batting all day on the final day.

India recovered from losing the first innings advantage in the fourth and final Test at the Gabba to pull off an incredible chase on the last day. As India chased down 328 to win the series 2-1, it was the first Test match AUS had lost in Brisbane in 32 years. Notably, a former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman sparked debate last week when he claimed that the visitors to the Indian Test series would have a chance of winning provided the playing grounds were level.
